thus far today, things are calmer.

So let me ask everyone this.

1 week from now when things are settling down further, what are your thoughts going to be on violence by police? Are you going to change your tune or will you continue down this path of letting police stomp on unarmed civilians and just let this blow up again?

Idk, I just look forward to your next wave of terrorist threats that somehow go unmoderated on this board (but not unnoticed by federal law enforcement, who is now probably combing through this userbase).

If you haven't already learned this, literally no one gives a fuck about what a dreg on society like yourself says.

Most of the people looting yesterday have done something more worthwhile with their lives than you.

Like I said yesterday: People will spend the next 2 weeks with their hot takes, the media will feature riot porn 24/7 and in 14 days people will move on and not give two shits about it. It's all political football for the majority of people. I've seen this movie play out every 6-12 months for my 38 years in this country

by comparison to last week, it is. This round isn't over yet, but thus far it doesn't look as crazy as yesterday

Really? Police are doin their job. Theyre not stomping on anybody. Whoever does, it's a one-off and doesnt represent all police or the system. Deal with those case by case as necessary. Is it really hard for people to have common sense?

Just talked to my buddy in Chicago.

He said River Oaks mall is on fire.

My wife keeps looking at Snapchat videos of looted merch.

At least one Costco was looted.

Everything is being closed down due to fear of looting.

This seems worse.

Things aren't really calmer. They have just moved to the suburbs where there are less cops.

It's fine. It's not in downtown.

All the tough talk from Mayor Dipshit and Supernintendo Chalmers don't mean anything when they can't protect the city.

I think they are weighing the damage and lives though. Do you expect the police to go out there and start shooting and beating people? That won't solve or stop the rioting. How many police officers is it worth putting in harms way on nights like last night? I don't think it's a license to destroy as much as a how do you stop it without costing lives and causing more tension between the groups. It doesn't sound like many cops or people were killed or injured (by each other) last night. I think that's a good thing.

What do you want them to do?

The government can't and won't save you ever. Should it be an expectation they do?

Yes.

Crowd of looters? Shoot 2 of them.

If they dont disperse, shoot 2 more.

Broadview shopping center and North Riverside mall seem to be hot spots. Suburbs taking a rare loss today.

Across the country police are openly agreeing that brutality and arrests like the Floyd arrest need to stop. People who still think rioting has a purpose at this point are just in it to watch the world burn.

All of the stores that we are currently bellyaching over will be putting insurance claims in tomorrow. All of them will overstate their losses and be good. Meanwhile inequality will still exist.

In times like these the insurance companies tend to really tighten up. The legal fight often isn't worth it, and for some places (like Central Camera) even a total rebuild will not bring them back their former charm and status.

Meanwhile we are in a war against the natural order with this ridiculous "inequality" bullshit. There is bound to be inequality, it is unavoidable.
