Actually, no. the rules directly say if it's not specified by the manager the umpire does it.

Yes, but I wonder how often that happens...I've certainly never heard of that rule and assumed the manager always specifies where the players are going in the order. I can't see most managers just leaving that to chance.

Started off with one kid getting the attention of Renteria, then another kid a few rows up started it too. I understand it is 9-1, but Jason was going over the top with the "look at these kids, that's real fandom there!" spiel.
