Never got the latter oddly enough. But that was back when I had a young man's gut.

So I'll simply enjoy this salad. American style with lots of meat on it. Happy Fourth!!

Potato cakes with horsey sauce... I will miss them even though I only got them a couple of times a year.

Arby’s loss is Taco Bell’s gain.

Arby's was much thicker though, and available all day.

I definitely bought 4 two weeks ago. They’re my wife’s favorite thing there.

Maybe they are just working through inventory.

What is her second-favorite thing there?

That's funny. Having eaten and made fresh dirty rice for years, I actually can't stand it.

Well, it certainly wasn't the best dirty rice in the world, but it was something different that you couldn't get at other fast food chicken places. They shouldn't have gotten rid of it.

Also, Jollibee has good garlic rice but they only serve it at breakfast. I don't know why. I suppose it's something Filipinos traditionally eat for breakfast.

You wait in line at Jollibee? Those lines are crazy.

There's usually not much of a line at the one by me now. When it first opened it was insane. I like it and I can walk there.

I will be at Arby's later.

I will report back.

Based on some initial research, it is not looking good for Potato Cakes.

This is Dr. Kenneth Noisewater reporting for ChicagoFanatics.com from an embedded position deep in the heart of a suburban Arby's.

We pulled up in our multi-person mobile unit to a two-way communication device near the facility. Immediately we were met with a checkpoint to provide our purpose.

We reviewed what was provided to us on their, let's call it a menu, and did not see the code words for potato cakes. So, I placed some general orders on behalf of myself and a young man that we will call Dr. Ken Jr. III for a ham sandwich, some curly fries, and a chocolate shake. We were allowed through.

Taking a chance, I also provided the secret code for 4 potato cakes. The secret code was accepted and we were told to continue to the next checkpoint. We did so.

Upon reaching that checkpoint, I was informed that the 4 potato cakes code was no longer valid. Only a few days ago, that code was discontinued.

I was further dismayed, on behalf of Dr. Ken Jr. III that also no longer accepted was the code for the meat....ham....which, ironically, is the only meat that Dr. Ken Jr. III accepts and our only reason for going.

So, in summation, not only does Arby's not accept the potato cake order, they only have SOME of the meats.

Dr. Kenneth Noisewater, reporting from an undisclosed location.
