What is wrong with wearing a ball cap if you are over 25?

I love this kind of rules that people come up with that are supposed to be enforced on everyone.

The only exemption is if said guy is excessively aged, and the cap says something salacious, like "Free Mustache Rides" or "Female Booty Inspector." Then it is OK.

5950s are the standard-issue hats, not some sort of "ghetto hat." It's just on you to contour it into a proper hat. I have a 5950 and I'm not ghetto.

I just think grown men wearing ball caps looks childish. It's definitely a double standard, because a hot chick with a ball cap with her ponytail pulled through the back is hot as hell. Go figure.

25 seems like an arbitrary cutoff. I just turned 26 last week. Am I no longer eligible to wear a hat? I've aged slowly. I could pass for 24!

As long as you don't wear it backwards.

I also hate the flat billed hats. Hopefully it's a trend that will die along w/ the Ed Hardy inspired designs. Just give me a regular old fitted cap.

That is just how regular fitted hats are shipped so they fit in the boxes better. It is incumbent upon you to curve the brim to your liking!

Keeping the brims flat looks stupid, though, as does keeping the front panels super-rigid. It's like having Dan McNeil's copper pot on your head, except with fancy embroidery.

I am not a flat brim Guy, those fitted hats are too deep IMO...but anyone who leaves the sticker or tags on looks ridiculous.

Well, think about that for a minute. I don't think Ugie is an active racist who is foaming at the mouth with hatred against black people. But isn't "they went ghetto" a racist statement? We all know what it means. The very fact that it's tossed in such a casual way and is really no big deal is exactly what I mean when I say all white people are racist. It's woven so deep into American society. I don't think it's evidence of anyone being a bad person.

Ghetto != black. Black != ghetto.

Maybe not if we were in pre-WWII Germany, but I think here and now the connotation is fairly clear. What's your impression? Ghetto = Schaumburg?

Hell, I bet IMU considers my humble abode ghetto in comparison to the mecca that is Schaumburg.

+1

Lids is the name of the store, does anyone actually call hats, lids?

I have heard it as well as others. Beni prefers to use the following phrases:
Nice Lid or Quality lid reduction when someone known receives a haircut.

The authentic baseball hats are fine. Blame the manufacturer and baseball for them being flat these days. The new material they use does not shrink up at all. If you curve it then you end up with enough space from your head to the top to fit a small woodland creature.

The non-team color schemed hats and all the other shit is pretty brutal. And for the fucking love......... do not ever ever ever ask me if I want a mlb 5950 hat embroidered.....yet the guy at the desk does every single time. Who the hell would wear that mess?

Yeah, I forgot all about that. I fear the day my proper wool Cubs cap finally falls apart and I have to put a polyester dome on my head.

New Era also has stores, so authentic caps can be purchased there for about the same price.

Ghetto may not be the correct term, but it would be hard to say something positive about where i spent my childhood now. I cringe when I drive past Barrington and Irving Park intersection.

A Walgreen's, a Shell, a Jiffy Lube, and a bank. None of them burned out or boarded up, to the best of my knowledge. Roll up the windows and hope for the best, I guess.
