What is making the immigration discussion difficult is what people like Chus and others do when you try to say anything,cry racism because the majority of those who are illegal are of one race. No other county is having problems with this like we are for the simple fact that both the government and the people do not stand for it. The only place that comes close to our problem in the Western World is France and look how that is working for them. Look at the way the attacks in the downtown area where reported over the summer. Hardly a mention of the race of the perpetrators. Why,if the medias job is to inform the public so it can be informed and protect itself.Should they not give detailed descriptions so that those who where perpetrating the crimes be easier to catch an alert the public on what to look out for?
Who ever on here said everyone is racist is correct. We all have natural affinity for those like us and are both drawn to and sometimes put off by those that are different from us. Not everyone thinks about race as much as folks like you and Nas. It's almost an obsession with both of you. And many countries don't have what you consider a "problem" like us since they are most often people of similar color and culture. Many places in western Europe are still pre-dominantly white and I for one find that to be far more of a problem then what you call a problem. And we may all have an affinity for people like us, but that doesn't make everyone a racist. It's not honest to call others a racist to try and prove an illogical position like your own. In fact, it's about as dishonest as a one can be.

If you want honesty, list the reasons why you are constantly bringing up race. Do it in a PM between the two of you. if the two of you want to go through life deciding about others based on skin color, that's your choice. Just don't be so ignorant to think that the rest of us will let the two of you do it to us.

Let's go more recent. Why did Japan fall? For several years a couple decade ago they appeared as if they would rule the world. But their own xenophobia and an aging population facilitated a rapid economic decline.

In order to stay healthy the U.S. needs immigrants. It doesn't make sense to argue about how they got here once they are here. We all know "sending them back" is impossible. So why not look at the issue from a different angle?

The issue isn't immigration being bad/good it's illegal immigration being bad/good.

And yes, there needs to be a different angle of approach on this issue, just so as long as that angle isn't amnesty (Again) and a bunch of news laws that won't be enforced leading us to an even larger problem 10-15 years down the road.
