Also, do you honestly think he was investigating it for 6 months and yet he was unable to crack the case that she didn't exist while talking with her every single day for hours at a time?

I have maintained Teo is lying since the story came out. I just think he's lying for different reasons than you.

I was conviced he wasn't gay after the "Faaaaaaaaaaar from it" denial. That's pretty damn far...

So why is he lying? That is the problem. He has to have a reason why he is lying. It's not embarrassment from being catfished since his story is that he was catfished. He is CLEARLY hiding something still. It may be that he is gay. It may be that he knew it was a hoax but continued it because the media liked it. It could be he was involved in the whole thing.

So, why is he lying?

I don't know that he's still lying. If he is I could see covering up that he perpetuated the hoax near the end.

In every version of my guesses he definitely helped the hoax or cover up at some point. I just think it was later.

I know I'm repeating myself on this, but I still think a perfectly logical solution is that these guys had a real, gay relationship, which was being covered up, and then Teo started losing interest, and Tui duped him with an illness. That explains all the angles. It explains the fabricated woman, it satisfies why Teo didn't do hospital visits or provide info to the media, and it also jives with Teo being duped - but just about the illness, not about a falsetto voice and lack of skyping. It really does fit.

I think this whole thing is going to end ugly for Manti.

You're right. Hiding what really happened after he staretd to suspect the hoax is still lying, technically.

I guess the difference is Im not as quick to label him a patently dishonest person because he's lied about this. I dont consider a person lying about an online relationship and how it began to be a complete liar.

Your timeline indicates that he knew she didn't exist around the Michigan/Michigan State game. If that is true, then he is a patently dishonest person. He let the story help propel him to Heisman consideration and many stories of how great he was.

By your own timeline, he was an active participant in the hoax. The only question is whether he knew in September or before. Given how much lying he admitted too, how much more lying he is still doing, I don't think it's a stretch to think he was involved in this from the start. It's much more likely that he was in it from the start rather than after getting scammed he decided to help cover up the scam and continue to perpetuate it even now as it is public knowledge.

He lied all the time about it, every day, for 4 months. He continues to lie about it. It isn't just one thing. By the timeline you posted, he lied about the call he got around the Heisman trophy ceremony, when he knew she was truly not real(he claims when the deadspin story broke is when he knew for certain), he lied about sending flowers, he lied about talking with family members.
I have explained the reason multiple times and yet here you are once again twisting it around. In fact, I clarified this exact point once again for you in the last page.

Once again, the timeline that you provided contradicts Teo on so many levels. The timeline you posted puts him as an active participant of the hoax since September(when it really started to matter). Is it that much of a stretch to think he was an active participant for a year or more rather then the 4 months you think he was?

Your version, no matter how many times you amend it, involves a person completely making up another person for no reason (meaning he didnt HAVE to. he wasnt in danger or anything. he just decided to make up a person)

A person was made up for no reason in any theory. One could argue that Teo had a lot more motivation to do it than Roniah did.
So you admit that Teo was an active participant in the hoax? You just disagree on when he was involved? It's a very small step to think my theory that he was involved much longer. If you truly think that Teo was actively involved in it since September then in reality my theory that he was involved before September is the most plausible. It's much more plausible than Teo's current story, and even your story has major flaws(you believe he suspected a hoax for months but did nothing to investigate and continued the same phone calls with the fake girlfriend for months without ever doing anything that would verify identity).

It's just my opinion. Feel free to think I'm wrong.
