right back at you w/ the luv.
Well...I don't know what I should say here, KS. I happen to agree with most everyone on the 49ers chances for winning it all. It's not a reach, yes, but so what if it isn't? Not going to be contrarian for the sake of being contrarian alone. That being said, I think a team like the Packers is definitely in the mix, and my comment about them only having to worry about the 49ers is actually a compliment since it implies that I think they're better than everyone else in the NFC. I also created a thread earlier this summer in which I said the Bears are contenders as well, and I'm sticking to that. Of course there are different gradations of being a contender, and I just don't find much to doubt about the common wisdom that says the Niners are early favorites for the title. I will quibble about the Seahawks, however...
As for the NBA, you may remember that I disagreed with you and others about the Pacers and Memphis last year - I said they had no chance, and that Memphis didn't even belong in the WCF, and I was right. I also think that have no chance this year, and either do the Warriors, which is a team I think you said you liked. If I get no points for picking obvious contenders, do I get some for being right about the chances of the sleeper teams you're picking?
