Soccer is more fun to watch than the rabid anti-soccerites give it credit for, but the 19th-century timekeeping really is just about the dumbest thing in sports. Sometimes it's fun to drop in on the Premier League, but what I can't stand are the American soccer evangelists who go around with their stupid songs and stupid scarves trying to get everyone involved in American soccer...by...ripping off all the cultural trappings of English soccer.

we rip everything else off...why not?

i think the officials should wear monocles and all have pocket watches, just so that there can't be too much emphasis on modernizing. and the game clock should be powered by coal.

i regularly try and be interested in professional soccer and the world cup. i played from 6 years old until high school. was offered a scholarship to play for a small private college but discovered weed was more fun.

its just not interesting to watch even though i completely understand whats going on re: strategy. i just figure as long as espn is going to shove it down our throats i might as well keep trying.

This sport would be so much more interesting if you could use your hands too.

Not really, but that would be a unique way to get the brothers back into the game...
