You spoke to bigotry in general. There is bigotry in America. We can argue over how prevalent it happens to be, but there is no doubting whether it exists. To hear some people on here tell it there is no such thing as bigotry.
Or if they admit that there is bigotry in general they simply deny it specifically. Fox News utilized this tactic for years. Individual acts of bigotry wasn't really bigotry by the time they finished with it. They would always admit, albeit reluctantly that there was racism in America. They were however always loathe to confirm individual acts of racism.
It was their way of effectively arguing that racism in America was non existent.
