If only Bruce Bochy wore chinos and a polo shirt, I could finally respect baseball!

love the hypocrisy of American baseball and football fans complaining that another sport is boring.

The national spelling bee has more action than a typical NFL game.

Baseball players are far and away much bigger pussies than soccer players. Guys going on the DL because of a blister and shit like that.

Pitchers can be a little melodramatic.

Positions players tend to play thru pretty much everything they can. MLB & NHL players are the best in that regard.

How about a little competition? After the World Cup final, you provide a highlight from that specific soccer game. I will provide a highlight from the last Super Bowl. We can go back and forth posting a highlight each to see which sport is more "boring" for as long as you want.

Yes, the best way to judge sports are by highlights. No wonder no one goes to baseball games.

ah yes, the highlight package. The only thing that saves an NFL game. How else can you capture all of the 8 minutes of action that take place during an NFL game?

Got a better idea, let's compare the amount of time the ball isn't in play in soccer while the clock is ticking vs football. And standing over a center yelling HUT HUT HUT doesn't count as the ball being in play.

My guess is that with injury time the amount of time the clock ticks down with no action is less than 5 minutes for soccer, whereas it has been determined that there is less than 10 minutes of actual action in an NFL game.

But, you'll always have those highlights! Never mind the 50+ minutes of literally nothing happening other than the clock moving you had to sit through to get those.

Yeah, we got eliminated in the qualifying rounds because we lost to Trinidad & Tobago. Maybe we should have just played Tobago; it was never gonna be a fair fight going 1-on-2.

It's OK, we beat them in youth hockey, which matters more

Soccer is pretty cool every four years. The anti-soccer people are more annoying than the soccer is great people.

Agreed. It just kills the anti-soccer crowd that so many people enjoy something they dislike. Causes them to question their own ability to evaluate the entertainment level of sports. Makes them insecure and they respond by lashing out at the people who are happy to enjoy what is the biggest sports tournament on the planet which only comes around every 4 years.

Agreed. 1) It just kills the anti-soccer crowd that so many people enjoy something they dislike. 2) Causes them to question their own ability to evaluate the entertainment level of sports. 3) Makes them insecure and they respond by lashing out at the people who are happy to enjoy what is the biggest sports tournament on the planet which only comes around every 4 years.

My numbering in the quote above.

1) Nope, it doesn't kill me at all. It means that I independently define my love of sports by what I like rather than what others find popular. For example, I have never played a round of golf in my life despite the fact that nearly every male I know plays all the time.
2) Lol @ this. Seriously. What does this even mean? I sit around and watch baseball and am entertained all the time. No deep thinking needed there.
3) Lashing out? It's not like I hold a sign out front of soccer games in protest or make anti-soccer YouTube videos. Yeah you're probably right that it's the biggest tournament. Shocker, the majority of the world's population likes soccer over other sports. The good news is that Americans do their own thing, and soccer isn't in the top four here. Enjoy what you enjoy.

I can and I did.
Both sports have 6 month seasons. One sport plays twice as many games as the other.

You gotta admit complaining about a bar showing a live soccer game vs day old baseball highlights or CNN is a pretty bad complaint that shouldn't be taken seriously.

Well, it was a breakfast joint in the Mecca, not a bar. But I would have complained if it was a bar too. And I believe I admitted that I understood why a place would play a live sporting event over old baseball highlights or CNN.

I totally get it, the soccer craze. I happen to hate it and hate it with a passion. So I'll complain about it irrationally.

  Playing in one NHL hockey game takes more of a toll on the body than playing in I would say any number of MLB baseball games you choose to use. Do baseball players even break a sweat?

No, I like Wildberry, but we tried the new Walker Brothers in the town center. Decent enough.

Guys kicking a ball around mid-field isn't "action" either. That's the majority of a soccer game. Oh, that and the flopping. Not quite action packed.

Just admit soccer is more boring than football instead of flopping like you just got lightly tapped.
