Have you ever had anything by Hill Farmstead, Tired Hands, Other Half, Trillium, Tree House, Alchemist, or Lawson's, just to name a few of the East Coast breweries that are generally considered some of the best in the world?

Yes, I have tried some of them and MANY other east coast beers. And I will stand by my statement. Bad water = bad beer. It's science bro.

Regardless, I wouldn't be defending Trillium right now.

Regardless, I wouldn't be defending Trillium right now.

Trillium's poor labor practices don't have anything to do with the quality of the beer they produce. The stuff about the tequila is bad news. In general, though, their beers are pretty awesome, much better than what you'll find in Chicago.

The Midwest is generally considered to be well behind the coasts in terms of producing top-flight beer, although it is catching up.

You have no idea what you're talking about.

I don't hate Midwest beer, I just don't think it's quite as good as most of the elite Northeast beer.

For the record, what Midwestern breweries do you rank ahead of Hill Farmstead?

Marz is very hit or miss.

TM, you know my affection for all beers east coast. I would put Hop Butcher and MoRe on par with the best out there. My NH trading partner agrees. He’s also a big Noon Whistle gummy fan.
