that sucks, chus. it is a pain to have those stores close--but it sucks having to go to those anyway. i wind up usually just shipping stuff back myself. i'd rather not waste an entire morning standing in line in those little offices. and not being able to use the bathroom?

When I was in live chat yesterday, the person asked for the best way to reach me. I told them not to call me unless they were moving up my appointment. I just got a call saying that a tech will be over today. They can't give me an exact window, but a tech is bringing over a new box this afternoon.

I am still shopping for a new provider, but at least I won't be down until Tuesday.

I have read stories of people sending equipment back to Comcast, and even though a tracking number confirmed delivery, Comcast lost the package somewhere along the way, and charged the customers for missing equipment. This really is an evil, soul-less company.

For about half a second, I contemplated having him whip out his pecker, and piss right there on the floor, but I thought better of it. There is a Burger King in the same parking lot.

Waiting five days to get a new cable box is unacceptable, so I decided to go to the Comcast store, to swap the old one for a new one. The Wheaton store is closed, so I had to drive to Aurora. Upon arriving in Aurora, I realize that this store has also been closed, presumably for the convenience of their customers. My choices are Joilet, Elmhurst, or Bolingbrook, so I head to Bolingbrook. I wait for my name to be called, and I approach the counter. I explain what happened to the box, and ask for a new one. She tells me that they don't have any X1 boxes in the store. This is their new platform, which they have been advertising ad naseum, but they don't have any in the store. She asks if I want one shipped to my house. I asked how long that would take, and she said one week. When I asked why I would wait one week, when a tech is scheduled to come over in five days, she says nothing, but has a puzzled look on her face. I told her, no thank you, and that I was going home to call Direct TV. They wouldn't even let my four year old use the bathroom. We will be calling Direct TV tonight. I am still going to have Comcast send out the tech with the new box, and then I am going to cancel. Fuck them.

I have Comcast for internet and last year I had to return a modem to the store. I went to the store on Golf Road, there was about 50 people waiting. I walked in, gave the modem to the person behind the counter and she tried to give me a number to wait in line. I told her I was only there to drop off the modem, but she told me I had to wait for that. I pointed at the modem which I had placed on her desk and said "there's your modem, see ya later" and left. Apparently I didn't break the company with that radical move cause I never heard anything again from them about it.

Chus, go with Directv. I've had it for over a decade and the customer service has always been fantastic. I call them every fall and complain that they are giving away Sunday ticket for free to newbies and they always end up giving me the Red zone for free which is all I want anyways.

Funny I should read this. I just invested 15 bucks for a "like new" modem from Amazon. Replaced my WOW modem and it works great. Returned my WOW modem,no line no waiting . 84 bucks a year in savings.

Currently some old guy is arguing with the lady because he can't read the letters on the eye test machine.

There's a small DMV in downtown Wheaton that is much better the major centers across the state. I've never been in there for more than 15 minutes. Their hours are limited, but it is well worth the extra drive if you can go when they are open.

Best. DMV. Ever.

I agree as well. Also, about a block away from the train, yes?

They are an 'express' so you might want to call first Tad to make sure everything's copacetic.

I'll have to double check the letter to see if it's just a straight renewal or if I have to do anything else. I want to say it said I'm supposed to bring a semen sample, but that doesn't sound right.

My Genie box went out ,Direc overnighted me a box ,no charged. Love them people can't see me changing any time soon.

If I didn't have to sign a two year contract, I would have already made the switch. We are still weighing our options. This latest episode has really pissed off my wife, so this may be what causes the switch.

i always wonder why bank branches are so big
like, they'd obviously prefer you to use the ATM vs. seeing a teller and i believe some even charge a fee to see a teller at this point
they aren't manufacturing anything there or warehousing large quantities of anything
so why is the Harris bank branch as big as a Wal Mart ??

You can keep yourself busy by counting how many pictures of Jesse White are on the wall.
