It kind of does.

I am very disappointed by the NFL’s decision to uphold the 4 game suspension against me. I did nothing wrong, and no one in the Patriots organization did either.

Despite submitting to hours of testimony over the past 6 months, it is disappointing that the Commissioner upheld my suspension based upon a standard that it was “probable” that I was “generally aware” of misconduct. The fact is that neither I, nor any equipment person, did anything of which we have been accused. He dismissed my hours of testimony and it is disappointing that he found it unreliable.

I also disagree with yesterdays narrative surrounding my cellphone. I replaced my broken Samsung phone with a new iPhone 6 AFTER my attorneys made it clear to the NFL that my actual phone device would not be subjected to investigation under ANY circumstances. As a member of a union, I was under no obligation to set a new precedent going forward, nor was I made aware at any time during Mr. Wells investigation, that failing to subject my cell phone to investigation would result in ANY discipline.

Most importantly, I have never written, texted, emailed to anybody at anytime, anything related to football air pressure before this issue was raised at the AFC Championship game in January. To suggest that I destroyed a phone to avoid giving the NFL information it requested is completely wrong.

To try and reconcile the record and fully cooperate with the investigation after I was disciplined in May, we turned over detailed pages of cell phone records and all of the emails that Mr. Wells requested. We even contacted the phone company to see if there was any possible way we could retrieve any/all of the actual text messages from my old phone. In short, we exhausted every possibility to give the NFL everything we could and offered to go thru the identity for every text and phone call during the relevant time. Regardless, the NFL knows that Mr. Wells already had ALL relevant communications with Patriots personnel that either Mr. Wells saw or that I was questioned about in my appeal hearing. There is no “smoking gun” and this controversy is manufactured to distract from the fact they have zero evidence of wrongdoing.

I authorized the NFLPA to make a settlement offer to the NFL so that we could avoid going to court and put this inconsequential issue behind us as we move forward into this season. The discipline was upheld without any counter offer. I respect the Commissioners authority, but he also has to respect the CBA and my rights as a private citizen. I will not allow my unfair discipline to become a precedent for other NFL players without a fight.

Lastly, I am overwhelmed and humbled by the support of family, friends and our fans who have supported me since the false accusations were made after the AFC Championship game. I look forward to the opportunity to resume playing with my teammates and winning more games for the New England Patriots.

They should drop his suspension if he agrees his cheating ass should never be in the Hall of Fame.

Let's also be clear here. Brady should sue, and if he wins then he was proven right.

Just like what Armstrong, Sharp, and everyone else who threatens to sue should do.

Instead, I have a feeling that Brady will eventually make up some lame excuse about how he just wants to move forward and concentrate on the season and he won't sue.

the only thing as i understand it that is fightable in court is if the NFL did everything above board in suspending him. not if he actually did anything or had anything to do with it.

thank goodness they have a different set of rules they rule with than our actual justice system. there have been a few times where circumstantial evidence put me at the scene of some sort of minor criminal act when i was younger (college years). thank God this type of investigation wasn't done. I might still be in jail.

but thats just it, if they bargained for it and agreed, there isn't much anyone can do unless they didn't follow those rules to the letter.

The player's evidence was intentionally destroyed by the player, who admitted to doing such.

If this goes to court, Tom's lawyers will ask the suspension be held up until the matter is resolved. The NFL's lawyers will then begin to depose Tom and his phone/text records will then possibly be subpoenaed. He will fight and drag this out until his career is over. Boston, and Brady fans, will call it a kangaroo process and refuse to concede anything. All of his public statements will be scrutinized and he will find that much of the public (those who aren't Pats/Brady fans) will see he isn't consistent in what he is saying.

In the end he won't be able to rinse the stench of being a cheat. He should have settled and negotiated the suspension down, with no acknowledgement of wrong but merely for the love of the game and the desire to put the matter to rest.

Pete Rose broke baseball's taboo of gambling, got caught, and has been proven to be a gambler. Brady got caught. Cheating has been around since the inception of games and sports, call it "gamesmanship". Ok until caught, at which point being caught breaking the rules makes one a cheat.

No he didn't. He said the phone broke. He provided them with the emails and he worked with the phone company to get them the text messages and the names of the people who were texted.

C'mon Nas.

Do you actually believe that Brady didn't know that his texts couldn't be discovered if his phone "broke?"

Brady's words that you quoted.

He broke the phone "AFTER" he said he wouldn't provide it.

I'm not a bank robber, you didn't catch me with any of the money (because I already spent it).

He wasn't going to give them the phone because they didn't tell him he would get suspended if he didn't. He broke his phone and replaced it. Sounds plausible.
