Yes- medical care got much better from 1960 - 1990 .. But The population grew as well...

How many shootings in 1990's as opposed to now..I bet the population is down from the 90's and shootings are up.

The only narrative I have is that I don't believe CPD statistics. Not sure why that gets you so hot and bothered....

Could be. I actually thought that was a bad idea because it removed order and created a lot of chaos in those communities. I was 13 when they basically eliminated the heads of the Gangster Disciples and it made things more dangerous for years.

I don't disagree with you. My point has been they probably weren't accurate in the 90's either. Nationwide crime and murders are very low in comparison to where they were 25 years ago.

I'm wondering though if crime is now increasing over the past few years. The few cops I've spoken to say it's gotten crazy out there. Maybe they are lying or clueless. I dunno. I'm just wondering what the hell is going on.

The media highlights every murder and shooting. It "feels" like it is worse. I believe violent crime and murders are actually up this year though by about 10% year over year. Bottom line is it is easier to blame someone else and the Superintendent is a major league asshole.
