Think about it, we complain about, “people on Twitter”. For the first time, we have our president being one of those insufferable people. So I’ll say Trump was the spark.

I don't think he was THE spark, but he certainly hasn't helped unite people or quell anything with the nonsense he tweets.

Very nice use of possessive and symbol. You’re at the top of your game ahead of opening day.

No, we do know. Kids are NOT locking down. They are going to stores, sports practices, tournaments. They are out and about. And living in households with super spreader adults. The data is there...they are immune to COVID-19. Even pediatricians agree.

So we have immune kids and masks said kids will wear as much as possible, plus masks teachers can wear..so again I ask..what is the sorry ass excuse for NOT educating our children?

Reading is a skill Bob. My kids (those that you lyingly keep claiming aren't being educated) will be at home anyway.

I teach a college course filled with upperclassmen. You know what else CB. The entirety of the curriculum that I instruct is online anyway. Everything. The same ELearning that everyone keeps bitching and moaning constitutes the entirety of the Course. In fact City Colleges of Chicago instructs us to teach the class by use of online materials solely.

You can social distance currently if you are a child. You also will be outdoors for the most part. When school starts back all of that stops.

Once you get to HS and above, online-learning has value. It's worthless K-8 though.

Possibly but maybe not. I taught Middle School for one year and didn't like it all that much. Kids were too easily distracted. Every time I turned my back they were horse playing. I'm usually fairly stern with the discipline but this was a different type of beast dealing at that age and maturity level.

Being isolated from other children might allow children at that age to focus more academically. However where they will lose out is in the area of social-emotional development. Interacting with other children and things of that nature.

I have encountered some kids over the years that spent the entirety of their elementary yrs being home schooled. Then they get to high school and all of a sudden the parent decides to enroll them in a traditional school. Some knock it out of the park while others struggle.

Remember back in the day when education was SO important you could go to jail if your kids missed school? We are now at a point in our history where we are denying education to our children for a virus that is 1/3 less deadly to them than the flu.

Honestly, these public policy makers that have pushed against school re openings, history will judge them as the utmost of cowards.

For adults it is much more deadlier than the flu which is the point. You have to consider the adults (who conveniently serve as providers for the children you admirably cite) in this. If we simply sacrifice them then how is that beneficial for society?

No, Trump has been a daily presence for years now and we've managed not to riot every time he says something dumb online. It kinda had to be something like cops killing a black guy in broad daylight. Everyone was trapped inside, they were lonely, miserable, scared, out of work, everything else that a quarantine and an economic collapse would bring on us. Out of nowhere came a good reason to go outside and get mad together and people grabbed the opportunity. We were itching for some justifiable catharsis and we finally got it. It wasn't about George Floyd himself, it was about everything all at once.

I believe that most of this is self inflicted by the teachers unions and the teachers who hold themselves up to be "special" and deserve free money and as much time off as they want. The Dems are willing partners because they will use any crisis whatsoever to try to deny Trump a second term.

I think I got your thinking down when it comes to who takes the blame for major events, it took a long time but I think I've unlocked it:

Dinosaurs going extinct: liberal dems and Soros
WW1: Obama
WW2: Hunter Biden
Great Depression: Obamacare
Cold War: Lightfoot
Vietnam: BLM

What’s the downside to wearing a mask in public?
Its been posted in this thread and across the board a number of times. The mask helps prevent and slow the spread of Covid, but it also is a detriment to humanity and society. Wearing the mask helps to keep fear in the forefront of people's minds.

This is really, really overly dramatic.

A mask for the slowing the spread of a virus is a “detriment to humanity and society”?
My god, man.

You really feel fear when you see people wearing a mask in public? I don’t.

Do you think the country is really roiling because of George Floyd? Lockdowns, masks, massive unemployment, unpaid rents/mortgages, etc. And this is just the beginning. I don't even think it's dawned on most people how bad things are going to get.

It doesn’t have to get worse if Republicans in senate would pass some relief for the working class instead of sitting on their hands. Extend fed unemployment till we get a vaccine and you won’t have mass evictions.

Did you know that if a person tests positive for the virus and is hospitalized for treatment for it that he gets tested every day he is in the hospital? And each time he is tested and the test shows positive that test will show up as a positive reported virus case. So, this uptick on the number of positive reported cases do not mean that the virus is spreading yet that is what the pundits and media are claiming that it shows.

This stuff is a clear example of bad reporting and forcing a false narrative on the public.

Very interesting.

If he can't provide a legitimate Source however, the hawk is just as guilty of doing what he accuses others in his final sentence of that post.

So The Hawk is a bad reporter and just forcing a false narrative here to further his political agenda.
