It doesn't sound anything like that IMO. Meatloaf sucks, they're probably even worse than Coldplay.

Your opinion became moot when you referred to Meat Loaf as "they", unless you were just making a fat joke.
Nice sideswipe at Coldplay, too. What's next? More stale Vampire Weekend blasts?

Its cool Im sure he loves Jethro Tull's solo stuff too.

You probably think Jethro Tull is the band's guitarist too.

i really like "estranged" actually; and the "trilogy" itself...as videos, are great.

here's what i thought though..."november rain", i remember, was mercilessly overplayed when it hit it big and i tired of it quickly. it's too long of a song to play that often and it was all over the place in the early 90's.

i'm actually a pretty big fan of "lies".

their version of "knockin' on heaven's door" is a goddamn travesty, though. awful. other than that, i think i liked UYI 2 better than 1.

The way this quote appears makes me look like I'm the one that wrote "Meatloaf sucks.....".

Box of Rain is great.
Red Rain is great.
Standing In The Rain by Husker Du is great.

Sam Moore does a great version of this song.
I thought MV's version was pretty good too, BITD.

That was awesome. That was the night I met you, Ugie, and Stink. Good thing I recognized a 7' tall dude with a Nordiques hat, or we would have had some wait to get in.

Does Tesla have an unlistenable Rain themed song?

I think people are under-rating UYI 1-2 and slighty over rating AfD.

I do agree that the albums are a kind of bloated but there is tons and tons of good stuff on both albums although it is apparent that the band def. tucked its collective tail between its legs and let Axl do as he pleased...some of the big band stuff was too much. But the albums were both still fucking good, really good. Being able to look back on it now with 20/20 vision (I guess) these albums were destined to be the last from GnR for artistic reasons as well as Axl's voice being fuckin' shot.

UYI 1- You Ain't the First, Dead Horse, Right Next Door to Hell, Coma (fucking amazing), Back off Bitch, Bad Apples...all awesome.

UYI 2- So Fine, Locomotive, Yesterdays, Civil War, Estranged, Breakdown, Get in the Ring (I know, but this sucker still moves), You Could Be Min....All great.

And if you think that some of these songs sound like they are from or had roots in Afd...it's because a lot of them where being written, written or were basic song shells during that period.

And if you want to argue...I will break your face with a brick.

AFD - All killers, no filler.
UYI 1&2 - Few killers, majority fillers.
In fact, or at least my opinion, AFD has 12 classics, where I don't think
I could comb through both UYI albums and throw in Chinese Democracy
for good measure and come up with a more solid collection of 12 songs.
G n'R = Appetite For Destruction.
Everything else is just AXL off his meds for the last 20 years.
