Sox are not this bad and they arent 23-10 good. They can be decent.

If by decent, you mean .500, yes they can and probably will be. I still believe they will finish the season around .500 even a couple games over. Yes, I correctly predicted they would fall under .500 a while back and predicted their slide of the past 6 weeks, but a lot of that had to do with their schedule as well as some corrections to the mean for some players like Latos. But despite believing they will finish around .500, it's not a true contender and adding more salary in the form of older players like Shields who has dropped 2-3 MPH on his fastball since signing as a free agent with San Diego, doesn't make sense. They have too many older players past their prime. Getting younger players who are approaching or in their prime should be the goal. Yes, blowing it up would be the right way to go. But JR has never been one to do that. So the idea of bringing back Ozzie is one I agree with. It's a desperation move, but it just might work and it would certainly create a buzz. Interest would be restored and the downside really is insignificant.
