I got a new car with a cool sound system, HD Radio, SiriusXM, and Internet streaming audio. Admittedly it has taken me 2 months to figure how to get everything configured properly, and then I came across FM-104.3-HD2 and wow!! Given that the Cubs are now Chicago's baseball team, I can hear their broadcasts. I can hear out-of-town or visiting team broadcasts, and dozens of other sports radio channels.

What I've learned is that 670-AM is a shitty signal, and the Radio.com feed is very weak compared to 104.3. I learned how to tell when Terry is sitting at home (the sound is distinctly different), and I learned that the audio people at WSCR keep the hosts mics hot and will turn down a caller's audio. Why they do that I don't know? But I no longer have to turn the volume up to hear 670, and then turn down the blasting audio when I listen to anything else.

Adios 670, Hello 104.3!.

Now I just need more day games and my listening enjoyment will be complete.

I wish the HD signal could be picked up down here.

Yup, ISDN lines max out at 128kbps, so Terry's signal coming into Score studios are already compressed as hell, and they have to EQ/Limit that signal, as I doubt terry has a full studio setup with all the audio treatment gear bells and whistles in his den. Same thing with Mike Florio and Dennis Miller when they're on their own ISDN connections. For some reason radio stations have yet to embrace high-bitrate VOIP services like Source Connect.

Does AM1000 work in HD? My car never is able to pick up a good signal on HD, but picks up every other channel well.
