Is he an ordinary average guy making idiotic statements? Or is he about to go into funk #49 after the reaction to this? Either way, sounds like a real piece of work. http://www.thewrap.com/former-congressm ... s-now-war/ Former Illinois Congressman turned conservative radio host Joe Walsh went on a twitter rant following the deadly sniper attack on Dallas police officers Thursday, including a now-deleted message that read: “This is now war. Watch out Obama.” Walsh, a Republican who represented Illinois’ 8th district from 2011 to 2013 before becoming a syndicated radio host, delivered a series of tweets that criticized President Barack Obama and suggested that the president was a “cop hater” no different from “the thugs on the street.” In another tweet, Walsh suggested that the president’s rhetoric about recent police shootings of unarmed African American men might have led to the sniper attack, which killed four Dallas officers and injured seven others and one civilian. “Obama says Cops are racist so 2 uneducated black thugs shoot 10 Dallas Cops,” he wrote. Walsh became a trending topic on Twitter Thursday night, with much of the focus on a tweet that he quickly deleted. “3 Dallas Cops killed, 7 wounded,” he wrote. “This is now war. Watch out Obama. Watch out black lives matter punks. Real America is coming after you.” In a later tweet, Walsh tried to distance himself from his earlier, more provocative language. “I wasn’t calling for violence, against Obama or anyone,” he wrote. “Obama’s words & BLM’s deeds have gotten cops killed. Time for us to defend our cops.” |

This stupid fuck is one of the reasons I saw Obama with crosshairs over his face on Facebook this morning. Way to fan the flames of these mouth-breathing fucking idiots. |

The "game" has become a race to shout the loudest and say the most outrageous stuff. Donald Trump is a consequence of this kind of thinking. He has said stuff that should disqualify him in the court of public opinion (ban Muslims from entering U.S. and all Mexicans are drug dealers and rapists), and yet he not only wins the nomination but he has also garner significant support. This goes hand in hand with the rise of propaganda news channels- Fox and MSNBC as well as communication media Twitter, Facebook, and all the other outlets for people to spew hateful rhetoric. It is damn near impossible to have a rational, intellectual political discussion anymore. A few years back I was talking to my in laws about why the Bush administrations use of "enhanced interrogation" techniques was a bad idea and against basic American values. The response was near universal that not only should we torture every captured enemy combatant, we should also drop nuclear bombs across the Middle East. I knew then, we were heading in a bad direction. I politely asked what we would expect to happen to our captured soldiers, and the folks hadn't contemplated that their course of action would lead to retaliation against Americans. |

Rationality is the first thing that gets thrown out the window once emotions get involved. We used to expect a level of dispassion from our statesmen now we have candidates allowing their ID to speak directly through their Twitter accounts. SAD! |

Last night’s horrific execution-style shootings of 12 Dallas law enforcement officers – five of whom were killed and seven wounded- is an attack on our country. It is a coordinated, premeditated assault on the men and women who keep us safe. We must restore law and order. We must restore the confidence of our people to be safe and secure in their homes and on the street. The senseless, tragic deaths of two motorists in Louisiana and Minnesota reminds us how much more needs to be done. This morning I offer my thoughts and prayers for all of the victims’ families, and we pray for our brave police officers and first responders who risk their lives to protect us every single day. Our nation has become too divided. Too many Americans feel like they’ve lost hope. Crime is harming too many citizens. Racial tensions have gotten worse, not better. This isn’t the American Dream we all want for our children. This is a time, perhaps more than ever, for strong leadership, love and compassion. We will pull through these tragedies. |

We're probably in agreement but disagree on our definition of the word "people." I believe that 80 - 90% of the human population is actually a more primitive being that simply mirrors our appearance (see "Scooter"). |

There are certain folks in this place that I prefer to avoid upsetting- namely (since people always want names), SomeGuy, Sini, and Scooter. I want my board interactions with these folks to either be positive, neutral or non-existent. To answer why about Scooter (I assume the other two are obvious), it just seems like he can go nuclear on other posters. It's probably all harmless, but I want his angst directed at say FF or IMU rather than me. They are better equipped to handle it. |
