These assholes cried like babies when the Park District took the concession away from Whispers Cafe. Now they're beefing about gelato. Fucking gelato! https://www.dnainfo.com/chicago/2016081 ... er-dessert Lisa Gasparian, owner of Amorino Gelato wrote: You’re dealing with the highest echelon of people who live in Chicago. The highest echelon of people who live in Chicago???? Fuck you! Also, when I was running a company that provided temp waiters and chefs, Jessica Oloroso came in looking for work. She had a great resume. She was a classically trained chef and I think she had been working at Le Titi de Paris. Beyond that, I could just tell she was a great person when I interviewed her. I don't believe she ever actually worked a gig for us. I tried to put her on the highest end stuff I had, but I knew someone like her wasn't sticking around as a temp cook. And these snobby motherfuckers on the Gold Coast are crying about her great product and demanding some "authentic" shit from a French franchise? Fuck them! I hope they spill their Bow Truss coffee all over their designer pantsuits. |

The author of this needs to learn how to write: "But, these residents now say, it isn’t good enough for their tony neighborhood." Aside from that, this is just further proof as to why we need Communism. |

That little triangle of a park used to be a bathroom for bums and living quarters for rats not too long ago. Now, the people in the area believe they deserve better gelato being served in their park (which is actually not a neighborhood park at all). |

There is a lot of crappy gelato out there. Most of it in fact. None is actually home made. |

I'm not a gelato connoisseur though, so maybe it's not traditional enough for the upper echelon of Chicago. What do I know? I'm just a hillbilly from West Ridge. |

This whole story seems like a controversy invented/manufactured by the Amorino Gelato owner so she can drive Black Dog Gelato out of the neighborhood. It's very curious that none of the dissatisfied Black Dog customers will communicate with Tadros directly, despite having texted him, etc. |

Next they'll be complaining about being called" residents of the "Viagra Triangle". That article is perfect, assholes reporting on other assholes with silly, contrived problems. F all of them and their classless, soul-less lives. |

So is most frozen custard--I once did a day-long taste test of about 20-30 custard stands in the Milwaukee area. There's really only about 5 or 6 that are worth eating--Leon's, Kopps, and Oscar's top the list. Chicago has a great custard stand, Scooter's, at the corner of Belmont and Paulina. It's just about as good as anything you can find in Wisconsin. |

Gelato was interesting the first few times, but its really not that good. Only custard I have is in a Fat Elvis shake with peanut butter, banana and chocolate. 'Mericuh! |

I liked Black Dog on the couple of occasions I tried it. When I lived in Chicago, Scooter's was my destination of choice for frozen desserts. |

There is a Black Dog gelato a few blocks from my apartment in the Ukranian Village, anywhat the one time we tried to go there was a line out the door and when we got there two of the flavors were completely sold out. The two we tried were very unimpressive. I got a mint chocolate chip and the mint tasted like an altoid overpoweringly strong. Anyways for the hype and the wait I was unimpressed. |

The only gelato I have had that tasted like real Italian gelato was Massa. The real stuff will make your toes curl. The bad versions are just a soft ice cream. |

Quote: Their latest salvo: collecting signatures to try and boot Black Dog and bring in a different gelato vendor — specifically Amorino, a few blocks away at 838 N. State St. Some residents met privately on Friday to discuss the issue. It’s unclear what, if anything, they plan on doing with the signatures (when asked how many signatures there are, Steinreich said via e-mail, “A LOT”) MANY |

RANDOM VIAGRA TRIANGLE THING: last time i was down there i ended up in some random bar doing eminem's "lose yourself" on karaoke. afterwards when i was outside having a smoke some ~30something/+ chick came up to me and said i was "really good" and asked if i ever considered trying to rap "for real." i saved us both a bunch of pain and suffering by simply saying "no" so yeah, evidently my "mad skillz" have impressed "the highest echelon of people who [drink] in chicago" and i'll buy dinner for anyone who can guess the only other song i've ever done karaoke-style. |
