Since it's 312, I figure he meant to type 'Old MacDonald'.

I have a fondness for what one might call "artsy chick music" (Patti Smith, Kate Bush, Luscious Jackson, Bjork, Nellie McKay, Regina Spektor, St. Vincent) but is Tori Amos ever putrid.

Hang on...the guitar player from Luscious Jackson used to be really hot....

This song is a masterpiece.

That's Robert Fripp on Roland synth, by the way, as if those solos could be anyone else but Fripp. But yeah, some of those harmonies are just amazing. The Roches seemed to have very little middle ground between breathtaking Crimsonesque epics and annoying community-theatre-girl chattering. Weird.

now that i think about it, lillith fair was probably one of the worst concert experiences i ever had. barrage after barrage of lisa loeb, susanne vega, indigo girls, joan osborne, liz phair,......just straight peener shrivelers.

Pretty much everything besides country made since 1990 is cool with me. I don't mean terrible things like the Macarena and what Paul McCartney still tries to do but most of the things that are considered even decent are cool with me.

Luscious Jackson was "cool" in 95-96 iirc

10,000 Maniacs were fine.

About ten years ago or so, she was touring (solo by that point) on a double bill with Chris Isaak. I knew that was a weird package, but whatever. The wife and I got fourth row at the NewWorldTweeterFirstMidwestHollywoodAmphiMusicShitholeTheater because we had wanted to catch Isaak at some point. Natalie Merchant opened, and put on the most boring, uninteresting, disconnected-from-the-audience, no-chemistry-with-her-band show I have ever witnessed.

Chris Isaak and his band came out and killed, as expected.

Luscious Jackson's Fever In Fever Out is good.

Tori Amos' histrionics while playing the piano always seemed phony to me.
