This town seems to have an inordinate amount of beat reporters that are cheerleaders for the local team. Gordon stands out among this group. He was asked on Mully and Hanley today what makes this team different going into the playoffs than last year. He spent the majority of the answer talking about how Jason Heyward and his "approach" were what separates this team. Even Jesse Rogers would think this guy is not objective. |

I got a feeling that Jhey starts hitting better and comes up big in the postseason at the plate. The biggest difference this year n last is... This team will be well rested when the playoffs start, the rotation is better, the pen is better. The defense is better, The hitting is better..its just an all around better team. |

uh...what? Gordon criticized the Cubs forever...Kris Bryant being left in the minors to save money stands out in particular. He's very objective about the Cubs, to the other side frankly. He was a B&B punching bag forever for casting shade on TheoJud. He's the guy pointing out the reasons why the Cubs didn't re-build on the fly...mainly because they didn't have the money from ownership. He's the only guy in town that repeatedly pointed that out. |

gd, you're right he's not objective. when the Cubs were losing he was the #1 asshole criticizing everything Ricketts and Theo did. he's FAR from being a cheerleader. the better characterization is he is wrong on everything Cubs |
