sorry, but i can't think of any class of loser idiot bigger than people who have always lived in the same dumpy grey patch of earth for their entire lives.

Harsh? Maybe. But maybe it'll wake up some folks and they'll not only holiday in hell|heaven|purgatory, but live there for more than a minute.

The Earth is MOTHERFUCKING big, beautiful mistress. Get the fuck out there and not only visit her for a week on holiday, butt-fucking live there. Somewhere OTHER than where your idiot parents shat you out onto the planet. Try it. Don't be scared. It fucking rocks.

sorry, got into a bar fight tonight, no fault of mine at all, with some dipshit locals who mistook my friend's high school hat for a Blackhawks hat. After a brief exchange of pleasantries, physical and otherwise, high-tailed it out of there as we clocked the sirens-off cherry-topped MSP cars closing in.

What if you moved 101 miles away? Is that okay, then?

You should have told them them that if horse shit Abdelkader wasn't on Kaner's line dragging it down the US would have won a game or 2.

Does it count if you are a South Sider who moved to the North Side for six years before moving back? That shit oughta count.

I kinda see what Hussra is saying. I moved 250 miles from home after college (nearly 12 years ago now...shit). I don't really like going out when I'm back visiting, 'cause you get those Tommy Toughnuts who think anyone who moved away is a "queer" and usually start shit for no apparent reason at all.

This is actually pretty good advice. It gives you a pretty good perspective especially if you choose a good area and not one that is pretty much useless(The South).

we weren't inside the bar, started outside in the smoking area next to the bar. like a patio, but on the sidewalk,. so maybe technically still bar property but maybe not; could be why the bartender girl or her mom called the police. also, someone, not even part of the fight, threw a chair toward the fight (older black dude, maybe trying to get us to break it up, I assume, I dunno, maybe dude was just into chair tossing ) and missed and hit someone's car parked next to the bar.

One of my favorite pastimes as a younger man was going to the local, rural bars and predicting the fights.

There was always one. Easy choice was the out-of-town group that would walk in. I knew my local crew was going to jump them at some point.

The more entertaining evenings, though, were when nobody from out-of-town showed up. Then, you had to predict which guy on the crew was going to pick a fight with another guy on the crew. It would happen, though.

And, of course, you'd see those guys out the next night drinking with each other and looking for the next fight.

....and then you took some money from them in darts.

Why did the sight of what they thought was a Blackhawks hat make them want to fight you?

Since my birth in 1970, Chicago hasn't completely turned over--close, though--but it is fair to say that I have lived in two or three different Chicagos.

We have people from the city of Chicago that still brag or care about the high school they attended too.

I can 1-up that. I've seen adults out in public wearing fraternity rings.
