Said today around noon that if you didn't look at what Dee Gordon did last night and believe in God or a higher power, there was something wrong with you.

Shut up, you feminine weirdo. No one wants to hear about your sensitive soul.

You know how I know there's no God? I was at Hoosier Park on Saturday night and there was a big race called the Hoosier Park Pacing Derby that featured a local horse named Freaky Feet Pete. Pete's trainer, Larry Rheinheimer died in the paddock right before the race that night. Pete only finished second. If there were a God, Pete would have won.

God could have put some light on the jetty that killed three people but I'm sure he just did that for Dee Gordon instead.

God works in mysterious ways. He's probably a Cardinals fan who didn't want Theo to trade for Fernandez.

This does have the potential to make for a hilarious cringey transition if he tries to bring it up around Bernstein.

 I know it isn't intended to be funny... or is it, but I found this anecdote hilarious for some reason.

  I just can't believe, on the crazy off chance that God actually exists, that he happens to like the Marlins more than the Mets.

My story was true, by the way. Good guy. Very sad. They didn't cancel the races though.

He might have at one time, but when I was listening, he was saying it himself. He made Goff a bit uncomfortable, which I would think is hard to do.

Did he use the term "higher power"? Is he in the program now?

I don't remember - something along those lines... I think it was higher power.

After what my brother went through, I have no faith in a higher being. I'm a sucker, too. I want to believe. I went to CCD, got confirmed, and went to a Cat-lick high school.

But, my feelings now are: fuck god.

If God and me are still cool, can I swing by for a tenderloin and king-sized cocktail?

The song doesn't go "one bourbon, one scotch, one vodka..." but I suppose you're still welcome.

Does it seem unusual to anyone else that a star athlete who barely survived four attempts to defect from Cuba, saved his Mother from drowning on one of them, sailed over to the US on an overcrowded, makeshift boat, would then want anything to do with the water, and be out joyriding uncontrollably in a boat?

And, if the defecting thing is so important, why didn't this multi-millionaire rent a cruise ship to anchor just outside Cuban waters to collect every other Cuban who wanted out, so they only had to row/swim seven miles, or whatever that distance is? Think of all the lives he could have saved!

I know, too early, right?

Speaking of athletes and boats as a bad combination, when's the last time Ivan posted here?
