Why would you not be optimistic. The Dodgers aren't a great offensive team either. As good as Kershaw is, Lester is pitching at that same level right now, so in a WORST case scenario they go back to Chicago 3-2. However, why can't they get to a rookie pitcher tonight and why can't Lackey produce during the time he was paid to produce?

It would not shock me even slightly for them to go back to Chicago up.

Agree, everybody that's on Kershaws dick is a fucking meathead.. The guy gets lit up in the post season .he wasn't great in game 2, the cubs just sucked.. Anybody on that staff could have held em to a shutout. They are just not hitting at all.

Great thread. HG is 100% right. Don't tell us to be positive. The last team that I cared about that won a title was the '98 Bulls. That's almost 20 years. Even the '05 Illini disappointed me!

This is all just part of the story for the Championship DVD.

It will be glorious when they defeat Kershaw at Wrigley to seal the deal.

If we consider Arizona to be on the West Coast, the Cubs are 1-10 in the playoffs out yonder.

The Cubs are 7-17 in the NLCS in my lifetime.

They are 0-10 recently in the series in which they were eliminated, so I guess that bodes well.

The board would benefit from a member status meter. As an example, given HG's increasingly erratic behavior, it would be helpful to have a Blood Alcohol Content disclosure next to his avatar. That way, we could reasonably assess the sobriety of HG when he posts. Otherwise, the seemingly contradictory statements and intense negativity would force us to conclude he is going insane before he gets married. I can't imagine what a few years of marriage are going to do to his liver and sanity.

BAC <0.02= Just waking up. Not yet posting. Color Code: green
BAC >0.02-0.05= Started drinking 10 minutes ago. Happy, ready to watch the big game. Color Code: yellow
BAC >0.05-0.08= Run to the liquor store. First negative post. Only using verbal assaults on girlfriend. Color Code: orange
BAC >0.08-0.12= Outta cash, not outta booze. Breaks the seal and forgets to put down toilet seat. Possible backhand to significant other. Mild shit posting. Color Code: red
BAC >0.12= Outta booze, enter rage. Pisses in pants. Breaks vases and mirrors. Proclaims complete failure of The Plan. Color Code: pink

I stopped at 0.12, but certainly have proceeded. We'll consider that an isolated event as he didn't return for 2016. I thought about having a color code black level, but I felt that would be insensitive of me. I don't advocate pushing a gay much beyond 0.12. We want him alive and lively. He beloved by me.

I'd like to know why the team swung at nearly 40% of the curveballs they saw from Rich Hill (whiffing on 15% of those swings), who had one of the most valuable hammers in the game this year, and swung at only 45% of the fastballs they saw, never netting a hit on fastballs that maxed out at 92.5 mph. Instead of, you know, being yelled at to stay positive staring back-to-back shutouts in the postseason.

They will win. No way the offense continues to suck like this.

How quickly the Nas turns...

It's not a turn. I felt they would lose last night and wanted to catch up on several years of sleep. I still believe that they will win this series.

It's hard to watch games where they are generating zero offense. Every at-bat is a grind to watch, and you start to feel like all hope is lost.
