Murderers https://www.yahoo.com/celebrity/model-k ... 43078.html Playboy model Katie May died as the result of visiting a chiropractor for an adjustment, which ultimately left her with a fatal tear to an artery in her neck … according to the L.A. County Coroner. TMZ obtained a copy of Katie’s death certificate, and it clears up a huge mystery surrounding her sudden death in February. The document says she died when a blunt force injury tore her left vertebral artery, and cut off blood flow to her brain. It also says the injury was sustained during a “neck manipulation by chiropractor.” Her death is listed as accidental. As TMZ first reported, Katie — known as the “Queen of Snapchat” — had taken a nasty fall during a photo shoot. She thought she had a pinched nerve and went to an L.A. chiropractor on Friday. She suffered a stroke on Monday, and remained on life support until Thursday. Katie’s family is aware of the coroner’s findings. They would not comment on whether they or her estate would pursue legal action. |

Nomination approved. 90% of them are con artists. Which ruins it for the 10% that actually do a good job helping people. In the legal world, their opinions are given pretty much the same weight as anyone who stayed in a Holiday Inn Express. Nothing can harpoon a good case more than an inflated chirpractic bill. I personally wouldn't let a chiro near me for anything relating to the spine. IMO only thing a chiro is good for is aggressive soft tissue therapy when you're trying to get back to sports, such as a groin pull/tear. |

She supposedly did this before even seeing a doctor about her neck pain. It's sad so many people get swindled by the snake oil that Chiropractors sell. If they did ANYTHING with solid, evidence based, rationale your doctor would do the same thing or tell you to do it. |

One of MANY. There are tons of stories of people dying because they didn't seek actual medical treatment and instead went to a chiropractor. |

The bad part of chiropractic care is that you could die. The good part is that there is a whole genre of videos on Youtube showing them cracking the necks of busty ladies. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eL1bsq7Axto |

I have a case now where my client has a back injury, had a year of solid treatment with good doctors. Had an MRI which came back basically normal. Her doc told her she was good to go and can return to normal work. She told me she was still in pain so I sent her to a spine surgeon for another opinion. He said she was fine and didn't need any treatment and this is a doctor who has a rep for loving to cut on people. So I tell her there's nothing else we can do since no doctor or objective testing shows any lingering issues with her back. So she goes to a chiro on her own and starts paying cash out of pocket. Guy has been treating her now at least 2x per week since January. I've called him several times and sent him letters asking him to call me so we can talk about the case and find out what he is doing for her, but of course he refuses to call me. He's not stupid, he knows when he talks to me Ill be able to cal him out on his bullshit and he doesn't want to lose his cash cow. But,on the flipside I know a chiro who does a great job. He gives therapy and sends people out for MRI's and if there is any serious problesm on the film he immediately refers out to a specialist. He's one of the rare ones. |

About 20 years ago, I had some lower back issues. My gym had a chiropractor who would set up shop once every couple of months, so I took his card and set up an appointment. Long story longer, he had me coming in 3 times a week, which was fine as my insurance covered it. I'd get electric stim on my back and then an adjustment. We became friends but it ended shortly after he and his wife (who doubled as his receptionist) invited me to attend a seminar, which I knew by the way they described it was for Amway (they denied it was but wouldn't tell me exactly what it was, probably because they knew I wouldn't have gone). I at least got a free dinner out of it, but I knew within 30 seconds of hearing the first person address the crowd that it was for Amway. I don't know too many "doctors" who dabble in pyramid schemes. Chirorpractors aren't doctors, and they prey on numbskulls. Admittedly, I was one for a short period of time. I became cynical of his "powers" after reading a brochure in his office prior to an appointment. Chiropractors believe the reason you have asthma is because your spine is out alignment. Hang nail? Check the spine. I used to joke that I stopped going when he blamed my parents' divorce on my spine being out of alignment. Quacks, the lot of 'em. |

Kind of off-topic but it reminds me of the Becker CPA review class I took in the early 1990s. They spent the majority of the first 3 hours talking about the diet you need while studying and that one of the keys to success is to have large piles of soft stool in your bowel movements. I thought that was oddly specific. |

The only way I'll touch the chiropractor is if they are actually a physical therapist, first and foremost. Gotta watch out for that subluxation! Oh brother, if the "patient" actually knew what that was... |
