Nomination denied for this instance because you are reading into something that is not there; however, nomination seconded due to the fact tht after recently tuning in for the first time in long, long time, WWE sucks worse than ever - even the pre-Attitude era was better than this goofy, cartoony, rated "E" sewage backup.

and then some wrasslin thoughts!

but hey maybe it's not a big deal and i'm am ambrose asylum member? yeah i got sent there when i pointed out that "ambrose" is one slight typo from the more apropos name "ambores" =P

and seriously, bayley's promo was very possibly the worst thing i've seen WWE put out there in a long long time. good god that was terrible... and she was beyond over in NXT too! everyone assumed she was a no-doubt/can't-miss superstar once she hit the main roster!

edit: [blah blah blah] because "I" is basically half of a "U" (when you see only the right half of the "U")

shit, if that isn't some kind of fundamental "law of C/S/FMB relativity" for me-- "I is basically half of U" -- then idk what is.

maybe i should delete this thread? [edit: "...ok then" - walter sobchak (y'all "it-getters" know what the dude says right b4 this quote too. guilty as charged!

not entirely sure what the point of this was supposed to be, but i'll send an opinion anyhow.... I dont understand why people think because someone is over in NXT, theyre destined for greatness in WWE. Kevin Owens is one of the worst ive ever heard on mic and cutting promos and his heel character is watered down. If it werent for jericho these past few months, Owens would be destined for the mid card.

Also, even with the "bad ass" stuff they do in NXT, the Women's division is as shitty as ever.

If you think Owens is one of the worst ever on the mic, Sid and Kalisto and Titus Oneal and Darren Young and Bret Hart would like a word.

He was solid before Jericho when he was going against Cena.

He has more than held his own whilst working with Jericho. The stuff with them and Tom Phillips was great. Most of that was Owens "freestyling" and Jericho chiming in.

The heel character being watered down is a valid point but that's more to do with booking. WWE doesn't let heels really be heels.

The primary reason guys and girls in NXT may not translate over successfully onto the main shows is the exact same reason anyone in general has had trouble getting over on the main shows. And that reason is Vince.

Yep.

I feel the product will be greatly improved when Hunter has control of the main roster and the shows.

He can put on a hell of show now with guys nobody knows or has no investment in.

Just look at the UK Tournament this past weekend. Didn't know most of the guys and by the end of the first day I had bought in.

I think he gets way too much credit for NXT and stuff but at least he recognizes the value of letting people who know how to book actually book (though this is obviously just when it comes to angles that don't involve him as an on-screen performer).

Of course one of the big fears is his wife regains creative control when he takes over, which would actually be a downgrade from Vince. Vince is obviously washed up but Steph is a never-was when it comes to booking shows.

Too say that HHH gets too much credit for anything is silly. Id say he doesnt get enough credit. He was heading up the CWC and this past weekend's UK tournament. He has been in charge of NXT where they actually have storylines that can breathe and play out. Ive been more invested in NXT (two matches in particular) than almost anything on the main roster in 5 years. The E will be in great hands once Vince dies. Sorry but its the truth.

Guys like Ryan Ward, Ryan Katz, and Dusty before he died deserve more of the credit for NXT than Hunter though (and Ward also deserves credit for Smackdown being a much more enjoyable show than Raw). Again, Triple H's best instinct is staying out of the way of people who know what they're doing and letting writers write. And yes, that makes him much better than Vince and that useless slug Dunn but let's not pretend he's been writing or booking every show.

His stuff with Cena was good because he was new and coming off high heat and praise from NXT. He's cooled way off since then. at this rate, he'll be a lost boy and end up the Orton route and just get recycled into the Wyatt family.

Seriously, wtf?

Off the top of my head, I would suggest a lot of the main roster problems are for four basic reasons:

a) Vince is irrationally loyal to Kevin Dunn for reasons that have nothing to do with Kevin directly; leading to the next point -
b) Dunn is a moron who wants to produce a basic TV show, not a wrasslin' show;
c) WWE isn't a family business, it's a corporate business ... as such an entity, they are essentially 'boxed out' of a lot of stories and tactics that used to, and probably for the most part still would, draw; and,
d) to address some of the concerns MANY have (e.g., heels aren't really heels, storylines are kiddie-level mentality), they'd have to risk losing whatever advertising base they're lucky to have already (maybe wrestling seems mainstream to you and me but from the viewpoint of ad $, it's still a taboo product to market off of for most companies) ... thus they would then be doing wrong by the corporate shareholders yada yada yada you get the idea.

Therefore I don't know that it necessarily makes a huge difference whether Vince is at the helm, or Stephanie, or HHH, or the ghost of Gorilla Monsoon.

Heels are allowed to be heels in NXT.

Revival cheat and attack people.

Joe didn't cheat but was just vicious.

It can be done.

Creative isnt necessarily lighting things up either. How often have premier matches (im talking main event for PPV or solid championship on the line matches raw/SMD) consistently end with some bullshit interference DQ or count out technicalities?

And i dont buy the argument that theyre still playing to the sponsors on the network and are being forced to play nice. The wwe would be able to succeed even if they went pg13. who are we fooling? if something like Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament (which is basically wrestling venues) is still around doing the same thing and successfully, who in the hell thinks the WWE has to follow someone elses wishes? they made the decision to tone it down and now theyre unwilling to move away from that. and thats all on vince, because the 90's BS of video game violence and congressional hearings on the influence wwe had on kids nearly killed him. once hes out of the way, i expect a return to a more edgier craft
