And anyone who believes in the quote below

Others handed out yellow leaflets, calling Yiannopoulos “a tool of Trump’s possessive fascist government.”

“He has no right to speak at Cal or anywhere else,”
the leaflet declared.

Beyond parody.

I don't think a riot constitutes a protest

You went to Purdue, you never would've seen this there. At worst most of the students would roll their eyes at the thought of Milo asking and would go on with the rest of their day ignoring it. Maybe a few people would sit peacefully with signs inside of Stewart Center. That's what they would do during my time there.

It's because this generation of yuppies has nothing to worry about and never has... so they can't even handle a different opinion without having a mental breakdown.

I blame Gen X.

This guy knows self promotion.

All it seems he's done is attempt to rabble rouse on campuses and then whine about being denied to boost his page clicks in his part of the echo chamber.

Poor baby. Sad.

He's a professional troll.

Very sad to see he attracts legitimate followers.

You don't strike me as a guy to blame the speaker for people burning stuff down and breaking windows.

A peaceful demonstration outside the event decrying the message would be fine.

It seems a very small percentage of Americans understand the importance of freedom of speech or what it means (Hint: Protesting is as American as it gets, censoring other viewpoints the opposite )

Between the "fuck you protesters, get a job!" people and these "Milo should have his mouth wired shut by government mandate " people...im starting to lose confidence

That has nothing to do with the ridiculous quote I posted which is completely indefensible

Sometimes protests get messy. Revolution isn't about discussing things politely. But the object and subject of a protest matters. And it seems we have a lot of people who are in favor of shutting down free speech when it's something with which they disagree. That's the ONLY thing this protest was about. It's not a noble cause. It's not an American ideal. This is strictly about uneducated children crying in the streets.

Those were rioters, not protesters. They prove Milo's point for him. And they're supposed to be the beacon of education over there at Cal.

I won't be here all day. What's your endgane here?

There are bad methods of Protesting, yes. For instance, if someone protested Purdue football by slashing Kyle Orton's throat, that would be bad.

Id never criticize a peaceful protest on its own. I might disagree though.

Google antifa and black-bloc. These were the people using violence and mayhem to promote their message last night. Some students may have joined in, but the people in all black with face masks were the ones carrying out the violence.

To put my Alex Jones hat on for a minute, you would think the leaders of these antifa people would know beating on innocent fans of this Milo guy is going to do nothing but create sympathy for the Alt-Right. Strange...

The students weren't the ones who initiated the violence. Oakland has an anti fascist problem. Google it.

Both sides really want to live in an echo chamber. And there's plenty of media to cater to those customers.

I understand its not always 100% peaceful, though there are few instances where violence is justified, imo

But, im not even criticizing the looters or atm attackers, just the idiotic message.

I just don't know what he tries to do except to throw firebombs, get stopped and then whine about how his rights are again being unfairly infringed

That his followers are the biggest fans of the Patriot act always amuses though.

As do his "protesters". They're both annoyances

Here you go people. Buried in the 5th paragraph down. Clear as day it was an outside group of borderline anarchists instigating the violence.

I like shitting on millennials as much as the next person, but dig a little deeper into the story please.

I was looking up some info on YouTube last night and he had an interview with Terry Moran and Terry Moran was outraged that he called the black actress from Ghostbusters an "ape" and a "dude" on Twitter. He said that celebrities should be able to handle negative comments about their appearance. In the Terry Moran interview he said, "America needs trolling because trolls are the only one who tell the truth."

I looked at a couple of Milo's shows and he's completely politically incorrect and uses profane language at his shows. If you look up his appearance at DePaul University there were a couple Black Lives Matters people who stormed the stage during his talk and then the Chicago police were told by the school administration not to remove the black protesters from the stage during his talk. The DePaul University president resigned after the conservative students marched to his office. These schools where Milo talks require the conservative students to pay for extra security for Milo and sometimes at the last minute the schools request $6,000 from the students for security. In the case of the DePaul talk, they paid for security, but the school told the security to not intervene. Milo is very offensive. He mocks Muslims and their history of child brides, he makes disparaging remarks about feminism and he says that people who can't tolerate opposing views shouldn't be in college.

I'm shocked no one has mentioned that there are reports this might not have been Berkeley students but was instead an outside group.
