I never disliked him until last night. While Jimmy Kimmel was openly crying while dedicating his opening monologue to Don Rickles (along with a film clip), Jimmy Fallon simply acknowledged his passing and then went on with his show. His first guest was Jay Leno and to Fallon's credit he asked Jay to comment on Don. Jay said that he was at Rodney's side while he was dying and then told a funny story. He then said that Comedians usually have the best funerals and then mentioned old comic,Joey Ross (Car 54-Ooo-Oooo guy).

Not one mention of Rickles. Unreal that this is the treatment Rickles gets from 2 Tonight Show host where he appeared over 100 times.

I am no Leno fan but he could have been taking the high road. If you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all. I read last night Rickles was really a Carson then Letterman guy. Maybe there was some shit that happened there?

Nomination Denied.

97% of Fallon's audience probably doesn't even know the name Don Rickles (or even Jay Leno).

I could think of a million things that would get me worked up more than one comedian not showing enough respect for another.

As Dave Chappelle is finding out, it's tough to be a comedian these days due to the PC crowd. I've read that MANY comedians won't perform at colleges, because today's kids can't laugh at stereotypical humor.

Although I think he's hilarious, Rickles couldn't make it today--they wouldn't even put him on one of those late night shows because he'd be too controversial.

Jay Leno is a douchebag, can't really argue with that.

I thought the exact same thing as Jimmy last night...in fact, we obviously watched it the same way...Kimmel openly crying, then I flipped over during the commercial to Fallon. It was as though Leno had some bits he wanted to get to, and just couldn't change things up. The comedian/hooker funeral stuff just got less and less funny as he went along. No one in the audience was laughing, the house was dead.

Yeah,I see your point but this DBOTW space on here is full of the little things in life that get under a person's skin.

Do you really want to live in a world without Don Rickles?

No,sir. I guess he had filmed a "Dinner with Don" recently. Something like 12 episodes with different celebs. Probably like Seinfeld's "coffee" show but with laughs.

I do not. I find it sad that his sort of humor is no longer "acceptable."

Yes, I've heard that, too. I heard Jerry Seinfeld call into Cowherd's show a couple of years ago and talk about this very subject.
