I have a gout flare-up in my finger of all places. Been dealing with it for close to a month now. Finally went to a doctor and got an official diagnosis and have some gout medicine, but can't start that until I finish the steroids for this flare-up. The steroids don't seem to be doing a damn thing. Luckily it's not very painful (unlike an attack on the big toe) and more of an annoyance, but I haven't been able to play golf and the weather is starting to turn. |

Mac is the expert on it. I get it one or 2 flare-ups a year, but I don't drink or go crazy with meat. Sometimes big toe, sometimes ankle. If I notice it fast enough I can usually stop it from getting bad by taking a few Allopurinol. Easy to notice the toe, but since I'm somewhat active, I mistake the ankle being sore or having a sprain and not gout sometimes. |

I seem to get it when I drastically change my diet (for the better) at Lent. I am good most of the rest of the year, even drinking more heavily during the holidays. Shellfish seems to trigger it more for me as well. |

My dad gets it every now and then. Do the black cherry juice and turmeric pills. It helps him. |
