Best thing about the beach is that if you get hungry, you can always eat the sand which is on the ground. |

RFDC wrote: Curious Hair wrote: You go out to Lake of the Ozarks? Negative. Family vacation to Florida Timely. Leaving for Tennessee/South Carolina tomorrow. Kids want to see a "real" beach again. It's cool and all, but expensive and I'll be cleaning the sand lodged in between my toes until Chanukah. However: milfs. |

I don't understand people who go to Florida during the summer. |

Only time of year that my wife and I can get vacation at same time. Took our girls to a tree trek/zip line place today. They loved it. Would highly recommend that. Way better than beach |

Pretty sure you came to the right place to get support for hatred of beaches. |

And in the absence of genuine leadership, they will listen to anyone who steps up to the microphone. They want leadership, Mr. President. They’re so thirsty for it, they’ll crawl through the desert toward a mirage, and when they discover there’s no water, they’ll drink the sand. Lewis, we’ve had Presidents who were beloved, who couldn’t find a coherent sentence with two hands and a flashlight. People don’t drink the sand because they’re thirsty, Lewis. They drink it because they don’t know the difference. |

We go to Florida every August. Cheap and hardly crowded. Catch some shitty A ball games and hang out at the pool and beach. Would prefer winter, but the wife's a teacher so I'd rather do it in summer than deal with Spring Break. |

when the wife and went to the resort in Cancun a few months ago we would grab pool chairs that overlook the beach, but the only time we went down there was to take a walk each morning after breakfast and then a daily game of beach volleyball in the afternoon and then later on at night to smoke weed. The pool is so much better. Nomination approved Also I don't even want to imagine the type of beaches RFDC is visiting at various KOA campgrounds in and around the Ozarks. |

Two years ago, I spent the last two weeks of July in Houston for work. The high was over 100 each and every day I was there. Florida sucks in general, but at least the gulf and/or ocean keeps things a bit cool. |

I think Pittsburgh must be the furthest west people live and still obsess over the east coast beach vacation. Whether it is Ocean City, Virginia Beach, Myrtle or the Outer Banks there is some internal draw that makes the natives here obsess over it. They all must go spend a summer week at "the beach" every year. Not me. I would rather bounce all over the country trying all sorts of different things but mainly fishing in MN/Canada or a mountain woodland cabin is ok with me in July/August. |
