Looking forward to killing off a substantial percentage of nursing home residents and wrecking people like many board members here who will be left footing the bill for the old and infirm in our families that will be their victims. Think about that when you think about the 32 million Trumpcare will be savaging by eviserating Medicaid. |

The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which. |

As the father of a 5 month old who will have a preexisting condition for the rest of his life, I pray they fail again. Having access to care and being able to afford it are different things. |

I don't care what they do but something needs to get fixed. I'm paying a shitload of money each month for insurance that still costs me a fortune when I go to the doctor. |

Do you remember how idiotic the GOP looked in 2009 talking about this shit? That's how idiotic it looks now. |

There will probably be a grim faced bureaucrat stalking the ICUs and randomly pulling the plugs on people. |

There will probably be a grim faced bureaucrat stalking the ICUs and randomly pulling the plugs on people. It's really not the same. One expanded coverage dramatically for people in need and the other wants to reduce and deny that coverage so they can use those savings to cut taxes for the wealthy. |

The bill does not repeal taxes on the wealthy. I think block granting funding makes sense to allow for more flexible state based approaches. Existing Medicaid is not a good program. "Repeals a handful of taxes: The bill would repeal the tax on over-the-counter medicine, health savings accounts and medical devices, a levy unpopular on both sides of the aisle. But it keeps in place Obamacare's taxes on the wealthy, health insurers and others." |

You know they have to repeal tax provisions and reduce funding in order for the republicans to reform the tax code and cut taxes for the wealthy. |

As someone who is having a heart valve replaced next month due to a common birth defect, I don't find the current GOP bill amusing. And I'm not exactly liberal. |

You know they have to repeal tax provisions and reduce funding in order for the republicans to reform the tax code and cut taxes for the wealthy. They don't have to, and to date, the reform proposals don't have huge cuts on an annual basis. But it will be tough to enact any major reforms without giving some wealthy people a break. When such a large portion of income tax revenue comes from the top 10%, it is almost unavoidable. I am mildly curious to see if the block grant idea works at any level. It is mostly about controlling costs at the Federal level and letting states design their own systems. It will result in less folks getting government insurance, so to the extent that someone likes government insurance, it will knock people off Medicaid on a net basis. |

This is why we can't ever trust the government to run single payer health care. Never. |

Death panels or infinite health care costs. Can't have it both ways. |

I dont think anyone is suggesting what some suggested back then (literally death panels deciding if someone should live or die) The term death panelist is figurative for how many people will die if this plan goes through. |

It's going to cap assistance but allow red states to carry on getting Obamacare to punish "liberal" states. Any arguing beyond that is stupid. |

I prefer the latter as i'd rather us the buyer determine prices where as i'm not a fan of the gvt dictating the market and introducing loads of mismanagement. |
