Looking at the replay it wasn't even close.
How the fuck do you overturn that? I mean your have to absolutely seen it 100% with no fucking doubt in your mind to overturn a call from over 90 feet away. There can be no question at all. It would have to have been a terribly egregiously wrong call at home.
Insane. They should be beyond embarrassed. That was disgusting.

Harsh, but fair.

No one would give a shit if the Cubs bullpen wasn’t such a disaster. Can’t get cheated out of an out when no one seems competent to get one.

Umpire Jim Wolf on missing call on Granderson strikeout: "I was dead wrong. I talked myself into the whole thing. "

Gonna have to fix this "not reviewable" thing.

You just cant have a situation where the replay shows a clear view of the play and the umps are powerless to change it. Bad optics for MLB.

3b ump bullied him into it.

Here's the thing, even if the play isnt reviewable. You see the screen, you know the right call and THAT is the call that was made. Just come out of the meeting and say "nobody saw anything to change the call"

Quit your bitching. The Cubs are going to win the series because of that call.

From what I could understand from Wolf's disjointed explanation: He heard 2 sounds which he initially believed (& correctly as it turns out) to be the ball hitting the dirt and then the catcher's mitt for strike 3. Granderson claimed he fouled the ball off. During the subsequent discussion, the 3B ump stated that the ball never touched the ground. Wolf then decided that he must have heard a foul tip & catchers mitt since the ground didn't come into play.

That makes no sense. If he heard a tip and then the catch and the ground didn't come into play it's a strikeout.

Yeah I left out a key part. The 3b ump said the catcher caught the ball at the same time it hit the ground.
