DRINKS JUST FINE! But seriously, I take it you drank apple cider vinegar? Who the hell drinks any kind of vinegar, and why?!? Vinegar is for cleaning coffee pots, coloring Easter Eggs, being put on salads and sammiches, and in old-timey douches (literal, not figurative like, say, leash) ... not for drinking. |

It seems to me like it's some fad that inexplicably turned into something otherwise normal people get suckered in by. 999 times out of 1,000 your colon doesn't need your help ... SHITS JUST FINE! As someone who often gets mistaken for a Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade balloon, drinking cider to lose weight has about the same efficacy as pissing on a forest fire. Plus, you of course know that shit's quite acidic ... you might lose weight when your upper GI tract has gotten so raw that drinking water is almost too much to bear. |

my grandmother took 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar every day. She's 96. It's nasty stuff but it actually aides digestion and fixes acid reflux. |

How the hell does Apple Cider Vinegar help with digestion when our guts are already filled with (diluted) hydrochloric acid? And how the hell does acid 'fix' acid? Doc, what's wrong wit my troat? Well, you have gastroesophageal reflux, or GERD. Huh? What da hell is dis GURD?? It's a medical term for acid reflux. <blank stare> You ever take a Rolaid when you've got a burning sensation in your throat? Oh yeah, sure I have. Everybody does. My mudder, God rest her soul, used ta go in da kitch..... Yes, yes ... that's what I mean, that sensation is what GERD produces. So, here's what you should do ... Wait, wait, lemme guess - drink more acid so de udder acid gets cancelled out? Right, doc? Doc? <door slams> "Fighting fire with fire" isn't a suggestion, it's an admonition. |

There are times when GERD actually occurs because you have less muriatic (hydrocloric) acid in your stomach than you need...the acid then, in order to digest the food must be sloshed around by the stomach, and when this occurs you get stomach acid thrown up the esophagus. Vinegar helps digestion and eases GERD. It's as old timey as you can get. Pickle juice works as well. The other help if you really do have too much stomach acid is to get as much green leafy's as you can, which are on the base side of the acid/base scale. Taking antacids long-term is super scary. |

Its been a thing for a few years. People take shots to help with weight loss and appetite suppressant. Probably because it tastes rancid. |

The first time I drank it straight and I almost threw up. Lesson learned. Now I cut it with water and honey. It’s still god awful. So no one got the Jerky Boys reference? That’s disappointing. |

I tried doing it once and that was enough to realize it would be a lot less uncomfortable to just go to the gym than deal with an upset stomach. |
