These knobs bestowed the honor of 2017 Chicago Sportsperson (groan) of the Year to Rick Hahn. I get that it wasn't a banner year in Chicago sports, but no way. This is dumb. This is the GM-infatuation gone too fucking far. The Sox won 67 games last year and they are giving the man who orchestrated the roster accolades. WHAT I'm on board with the White Sox rebuild because I have to be, and I think Hahn has done a good job. This is stupid and I do not like it. |

Rick Hahn has been the GM of the White Sox for 5 years. Over that time their record is 357-453. That's a .440 winning percentage and an avg of 71 wins a season. There is only 1 team (can you guess who it is) in all of baseball who has won fewer games over that time period. But hey, he traded two of the best left handed pitchers in all of baseball for a bunch of minor leaguers so lets give him an award! |

It is the Phils. Good work. They only won 346 games over the last five years. I thought it would be Cincinnati or the Padres but they both have won 366. The Twins are 3rd at 363 wins. |

That's a .463 winning percentage. However the final 4 years under Ventura, saw the Sox go 290-358 which pencils out to a .447 winning percentage. You wanted the Sox to keep Ventura, but you aren't happy with Hahn. Pick a lane. Either winning percentage matters, or it doesn't.

His point about Hahn’s failures is unassailable though. |

Keyser could logically argue that Ventura outperformed expectations given the poor quality of talent Hahn put on the field. |

But then we would have to acknowledge that Kenny was heavily involved with those teams and the players on them. And Kenny's meddling was a main reason that Ventura left. |

Kenny’s record during the 5 years before Hahn was 420-391. That’s a .518 winning percentage and an avg of 84 wins a season. Hahn’s teams have finished 4th four times and 5th once. They have finished an astounding 117.5 games out of first place. Holy fuck |
