The douchebags will all get a free vacation on our dime because as always when they do reopen the government, the fucking leeches in both parties will of course vote to pay them for the days they didn't work. Afterall, they can't risk losing an election because some lazy government bureaucrat is unhappy he didn't get paid for a week he spent at home. |

Just someone living in the real world who has no tolerance for government freeloaders. I'd say most government employees qualify as such. That is why they haven't been able to hack it in the private sector. |

It's always a great idea to punish workers because of the incompetence of members of Congress and the spinelessness of the president. |

I'd start by eliminating or severely curtailing most 3 letter agencies, starting with the NSA, DEA, and ATF. |

I've argued in past threads to cut the military by 75% (we have 2 oceans and no hostile nations on our borders) and to allow people to opt out of social security since it has more or less turned into a pyramid scheme. I will see but a small fraction of what I put into that scam and it only gets worse as the ratio of people with a paycheck vs. people collecting benefits continues to drop due to a declining birthrate and an extension of lifespans. We would all be better off if our FICA contributions went into a money market account where it could be managed like a 401k. Just to add a note on cutting our military by 75%, the remaining 25% would still make us the #1 spender on defense in the entire world. |

A red-letter day in every Teenage Libertarian's life is when he realizes that Republicans don't really want "small government" in the sense of an efficient government, they want "small government" as a dog whistle for rolling back civil rights and the social safety net. All the other big government is okay. |
