He should've been executed for his shitty My Sox Summer book. I mean, the Red Sox get a wonderful season diary from Stephen King and Stewart O'Nan and we get a fucking pamphlet from the Ebert's partner. Damn shame. |

But JORR, when exactly will you first be supporting a progressive thinking person, because you agree with them |

Keyana Jones noticed that Julie DiCaro lost thousands of followers in the past week or so....wonder if this is related, somehow? |

Regular Reader wrote: But JORR, when exactly will you first be supporting a progressive thinking person, because you agree with them What do you mean by "progressive thinking"? And Roeper is just another "liberal" phony too tone deaf to realize he was denigrating fat women. He also wrote that column where he drove through Dolton and was offended that black people gave him the side eye, because after all, Dolton is his town. In my experience the people who claim to be "progressive" are the least progressive of all. I love when guys like Northbrook Neil talk about the racism of others when they live as far away from black people as they can get. Progressive my ass. |

I haven't seen him on the Ch. 32 news in the morning for a while, but he doesn't seem to be aging well. He face looked bloated, clammy, and weirdly smooth, like he had some work done. He also looked like he combed his hair with an egg beater. spmack wrote: Keyana Jones noticed that Julie DiCaro lost thousands of followers in the past week or so....wonder if this is related, somehow? It probably is. Someone on the board speculated about this being the case a while back. |

Just look at Nancy Pelosi. |

Just look at Nancy Pelosi. I agree with JORR that this president is too broad-shouldered, too honest, too handsome, too concerned with defending working families from the clean drinking water that threatens their way of life to even think about a cosmetic procedure, let alone get one. It wouldn't surprise me to see some self-loathing burrito members of the liberal media making up stories of scalp reduction surgery and capped teeth but they're obviously fake news. God gave this president less exposed scalp than any president in history. It's so refreshing to finally have some class and natural beauty back in the White House. That fucking Muslim cow Michelle Obama was an international embarrassment. |

This isn't about progressive values. JORR has been a model of consistency when it comes to mocking the glaring mediocrity of Richard Roeper. |

Politically, that guy is all over the map. I always thought he was a liberal, but then he leaned pretty conservative or libertarian on Roe Conn's show. In the same vein, I can never tell if he is gay or straight. I read his old column in the Sun-Times quite a bit when I was a teen, but I used to think, what is this guy actually writing about? I'd often get to the end of an article and think, "So did he have a point?" It was like reading someone's clickbait blog before there was an Internet. |

Roeper is a weird dude. Met him at a Barnes & Noble or Borders bookstore while I was studying for the Bar exam over 15 years ago (damn). Seemed like the kind of guy who was so into himself that he lost himself. Way too Hollywood for Illinois, though, that's for sure. I used to read his columns a lot before the Ebert hookup, and I always wondered what made him all of a sudden qualified to be an expert at reviewing movies. |

i never understood why ebert chose him to replace siskel, because roeper was the least qualified person to be a film critic that he ever featured. he made owen gleiberman seem like a genius. |

Nas wrote: Regular Reader wrote: I mean really, I've never seen you champion a single liberal politician here I think he may have been a Berniebro. It's possible that was just a cover for #NeverHillary I think Reader is correct. But he's missing the other half of it. I don't think I've ever championed a single conservative politician here either. I wouldn't say I was a Berniebro, but I do respect Bernie (and to a somewhat lesser extent, Trump) not because I think any specific policies put forth were good ideas or even viable, but because these guys seemed to be the only candidates who had the slightest inkling that America wasn't working for a whole lot of people. And I certainly wasn't "Never Hillary" although whenever I see her I have an urge to crack her in the head with a shovel. I wasn't going to vote for Donald Trump because, in spite of my more radical theoretical leanings, I am a traditionalist at heart. He just didn't/doesn't seem like a president. But I do understand that that was exactly the appeal for many people. |

He's losing his job for getting busted boosting social media numbers? He's suspended right now. Maybe he'll get to keep his job, but think of the implications of what he's accused of for a supposed "journalist". It really doesn't support the idea that he's not "fake news". |
