Tell me what you want to know!

Don't make me read a 15-email long chain of crap that doesn't concern me to figure out what information you require. I hate that shit.

I read the 15 emails and I still needed to get back to bad email guy because he didn't give me enough context to know what that all meant. Stop wasting my time.

You've already read all the damn emails. Tell me what you want to know!

Denied. Most of this is corporate policy, CYA ass stuff. Out of the employees control.

Please let me know if you have any questions, comments, or concerns.

That's a horrible corporation, then.

Everybody has to read what I've read to get me the information that I need? That's some 7-9 bullshit.

at least its in an email and not a meeting.

email: read in 2 minutes, be confused, ignore.
meeting: lose 45 minutes of life, be confused, wonder if existing is worth it

2 minutes? A 15 email-chain is 10 minutes minimum and, if you have to clarify your confoundedness, double it.

A simple "can you tell me..." email would save 15 minutes of all our lives.

I'm saving lives here, people.

 My wife was complaining about a similar work e-mail the other day. "Just tell me what you want!" Of course she didn't respond that way, that's what she said to me whilst complaining.

I work with a QA person who will frequently write an email like this

---
To: newper@company.com
From QA@company.com
Subj: Ticket #42351

I launch the process, go to the tab, and then I push the button and some files are created.

Sincerely,
QA
----

First off, I don't memorize ticket numbers -- we're always working on a thousand things so a brief 3 or 4 word summary of the ticket would be nice. Secondly, that is a good story, but there are three things that you need to include -- (1) What happened with details, (2) What you thought should happen instead, (3) Why you think this is important to the ticket. And she has been told about this for years now.
