About a half mile into my ride this morning I hit the deck on a hard to see patch of ice. Good thing I didn't bust up my new phone. Or a hip. I'm too fuckin' old to be dropping my bike. And now the rear brake is all fucked up. Thank God it's Wine Week!

My brother in this past year broke a rib, clavicle and pelvis on his bike, his big toe during the recovery and then 3 weeks after being cleared from all the crutches and shit to return to normal activity slipped on some ice because some jag watered his lawn when it was 16 degrees out and broke his arm. I considered buying him a bubble for his birthday.

I think this all could have been avoided with higher tech spandex.

went tits up one footstep onto my walkway monday night at around 1am. could feel whole body completely off the ground in slo-mo, and splat. landed left shoulder first onto concrete. hurt like FUCK upon impact. went to ibji yesterday at 11am, and yep, after alomst 44 years, i finally broke a bone in my body. the ball of my left shoulder. prolly wont need surgery, f/u in 2 weeks. sling and rx for norco. can only type chicken peck style with right hand. #FUCKBLACKICE #PROBABLYWORSTPAINIVEEVEREXPERIENCED

Damn that sucks SD. We got a pretty healthy dose of the ice here in Kenosha that evening, no doubt about it.

it looked like regular heavy sloshy new snow, but nope. fastest ice, and i was wearing lame tractionless shoes to begin with  . the silver lining was that i didnt hit my head on the concrete step, and i only missed it by inches.  it hurts like hell, and ive never had norco before, so ive only taken 1 325 mg pill, twice. one at 730pm yesterday and again at 130 am. took 2 reg advil at 1130 this morning. the rx says i can take 2 norco as needed every 6 hours, but i dont want to od.

Considering you were dressed like Randy Salerno in your last picture, this could have gone much worse.

The silver lining is that some person who is a normal person that drives a car didn't have their commute slowed down by your slow bike today.

A guy in his 60's in Highland Park was riding his bike and was "attacked by a red-winged blackbird, fell off, hit his head and later died. Those birds are nasty little fuckers.

I've been attacked by those fuckers on several occasions. There's a portion of the bike path near my house where they actually put up warning signs in the spring.

The funny thing is the signs are politically correct. They don't say "DANGER! Red-Winged Blackbirds Nesting." They say "DANGER! Aggressive Birds." What kind of aggressive birds? Are they eagles? Starlings? Seagulls? Everyone knows it's one kind of bird being an asshole. Oh no! #NotAllRed-WingedBlackbirds. Terrorist birds come in all species. What about the three sparrows that fucked up my hummingbird feeder that one time?

We have thousands of those guys. I like them for most part because when you start hearing them it means spring is near but they can be real bastards.
