https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/video/de ... vi-AAvtFZj this ban openly includes semi automatic rifles and even pistols with magazines with capacity over 10 rounds. Are people willingly becoming retarded? Or, do they actually think this is correct/even lawful? Bernstein will be happy until scumbags start crawling all over the neighborhood looking to get inside the gated communities |

Deerfield has been a hotbed of automatic rifle fire. This should stem the bloodshed. |

Maybe they can appeal if they regulate their militia better. |

If you are going to protest, I can suggest a great lunch place. Just leave your guns outside or hidden. |

But no one is coming for your guns, right? If you dont turn in banned weapons you get fined $1000/day. Will they compensate you for your confiscated property? So they're making hundreds of law abiding people felons overnight. That sounds fair. I'm not sure that it's legal to confiscate property without compensation. This will surely be challenged. It will be interesting. |

I fail to see how this is a bad thing. What civilian needs this shit? Shotguns are way more fun anyway. |

Dewskie wrote: I fail to see how this is a bad thing. What civilian needs this shit? Shotguns are way more fun anyway. Were we dont have a bill of needs we have a bill of rights. We shouldn't enter into the needs debate. Trust me in Deerfield hardly anyone "needs" the property they posess. If you fail to see how it's a bad thing I can't help you. You should probably think about property confiscation without compensation and remove the word weapon from the equation and see what you come up with. |

Just as a frame of reference, this law would ban most 9 mm handguns since most of them carry over 10 rounds. There is no way this law survives legal challenges, especially with the fines levied against lawfully purchased firearms. |

Yeah, like you said, I hope the residents of Deerfield are happy their tax dollars will be going to high dollar lawfirms for all the suits this will bring. Money well spent. |

For the record the crime rate in deerfield is absurdly low. This wasn't to solve a problem. They're legislating away problems they dont have. And it's going to end up costing the town a bunch of money. |

And it's going to end up costing the town a bunch of money. It's feel good legislation. It reminds me of the time Vermont decided to ban all frack mines in their state. And at the time of the legislation, there were no current or proposed mines. But they wanted to be at the forefront! |

I thought people were mad that legislation in the wake of Parkland was going after the "assault rifles" when handguns were a bigger problem. Now a town goes after handguns as well and that is bad too? It's almost as if some people don't want ANYTHING to be done. |

Remember "nobody is coming for your guns"? Quote: "It shall be unlawful to possess, bear, manufacture, sell, transfer, transport, store or keep any assault weapon in the Village." Is this going after people's guns? Can we finally admit that modern gun control is actually about going after and taking people's guns? |
