Then leave. I hate people like this. It's like announcing you are going to leave the board. Remember all those celebrities who were going to move if Trump won the election? No one did. Maybe she can move to India and be a Bollywood star and see if she can get paid $20 million for a movie.

Yes, racism exists and it sucks. Here's an idea, use your fame and fortune to do something about it besides whine about it.

Movie star Charlize Theron is worried about racism in America as the mother of two black children.

The actress, who was raised in South Africa during the apartheid era, opened up to Elle on Thursday about racism in America and raising two black children in the current social climate.

"Racism is much more alive and well than people thought. We can't deny it anymore. We have to be vocal," Theron told Chelsea Handler in the May cover story. "There are places in this country where, if I got a job, I wouldn't take it. I wouldn't travel with my kids to some parts of America, and that's really problematic."

"There are a lot of times when I look at my kids and I'm like, 'If this continues, I might have to [leave America].' Because the last thing I want is for my children to feel unsafe," the 42-year-old continued.

Theron explained that being raised during apartheid made her "hyperaware of equality and human rights" even before she was a mom to two black children.

"Of course, I have two black kids, but that was always something I was passionate about. I don't even know how to talk about the last year under our new administration" she explained.

The actress is a mom to 2-year-old August and 6-year-old Jackson, whom she adopted as a single parent.

She revealed in the interview that her own mother, the children's grandmother, is helping her co-parent.

The Oscar-winning actress also shared that some might be surprised she doesn't have a team of 40 raising her children. Instead, it's just her amazing nanny and mother, Gerda.

Theron stars in the upcoming movie "Tully," where she portrays a single mother raising three children on her own.

Yes racism is definitely much worse today than it was in the 50s.

Pretty impressive to raise a child with only one nanny.

Look at me I raise BLACK kids with only one full time nanny. I'm a hero in this evil racist society. When not shooting a movie or attending an awards show she might see then at least twice on weekends.

You don't find it strange that she's fetishizing the race of her adopted children to criticize a society that has placed her on a pillar?

She's absolutely right and is using her platform to shine a light on a real issue in the US.

did you ever hear about the elevator shafts in the high rises once the cities got got? use your imagination of things you can do over the edge of a long big giant hole in the middle of a colonized high rise building.... and remember it takes balls to hang your ass over the edge of an open elevator shaft =D

I think there is some standard Hollywood grandstanding but her ultimate concern for her kids is valid.

Rich celebrities should really be concerned with the safety of their children in the United States. It's a scary place on the penthouse of the nearest five start hotel near her set and inside the gated community of her $3.8 million Hollywood Hills mansion .

You are the biggest racism denier on the board so it isn't shocking you think money can somehow make someone immune from it.

I don't think even you would make an argument that being a black person born to a rich celebrity makes you immune to racisim.
