From Mel Kiper to the War Room to saying the player has "swag" to the constant booing of booing of the Commish get a grip! None of these fucks have played a down yet :D

Seconded. There were hundreds of draft "grade" articles out last night. How could you possibly grade a draft until a few years in? Half of these players who look like superstars on film won't even be starting when the season starts and will eventually be completely forgotten.

It's a lot of hype, but I guess it works for ratings.

The only thing that comes close to the payoff not equaling the hype is Thanksgiving .

to be fair, it's not like that only happens in football. There are draft grade articles the morning after the NBA draft too

Yeah, I know... and it's nothing new, either.

It was funny - I read a draft analysis that gave the first 8 picks all A+'s.

Last night was the best.

America was full of fire and passion. Or something.

If a man boos and no one else hears it, does it make a sound?

You're a Cubs fan. So why are you obsessed with making Sox comments? You're almost worse than bigfan was.

I agree, off-season football is stuff is lame. I mean, it's not like they can spread an off-season event like a draft over an entire weekend and average better ratings than the most-watched tournament in Woke Bae League history, right?

It's not perfect, but its better than having "random" ping pong balls determine who picks when.

I wonder if the out of season NFL thing got better ratings than the in season NBA playoff games last night...

I guarantee you the draft beat the playoff games, by a lot.

NOBODY WANTS TO HEAR OFF-SEASON NFL TALK, though.

So you're telling me that OUT OF TOWN and OUT OF SEASON NFL ratings are higher than the NBA playoff games?

I can't even fathom how something like this would happen!

And the tone deaf idiot still doesn't quite realize that more people would prefer to hear Lebron James than Odell Beckham right now. That is even as one who has Lebron Fatigue sort to speak.

Tone deaf idiot still doesn't realize that once the draft is over there will be more interest in NBA playoff talk. Continue to ratings watch however.

It's almost like the NFL is insanely more popular than the NBA and people will gladly drink in media coverage of football during it's off-season! What a world!

No surprise about fathoming since it took you all of two days to figure out that a damn mult wasn't a damn mult. This even with no less than 5 people providing you with a road map.

Off season NFL talk and NFL draft talk are two separate things by the way. They were also up against a series that MANY aren't interested in.

Since you are so Ratings intensive I'm sure you know that NFL ratings are declining and have for the past 3 years. Expect that trend to continue. Meanwhile Basketball ratings are up. Expect that trend to continue. Also for "demographics lovers" NBA fans overall constitute the youngest demographic

C'mon. That just isn't the case. I've been told that NBA ratings and NBA social media follows are on the up swing. There is no way that the NFL can be more popular given that!

Next you are going to try and tell me that the sky is blue, and that grass is green!

In order to preserve the sanctity of the thread i will refrain from Commenting about NBA vs NFL any further.

Its a stupid discussion to be honest. Any person that thinks that sports are more exciting when they aren't being played than when they are being played is probably an idiot and not worthy of engagement

Wish I could take credit for it but the "Bootleg Brick" or "Brick Lite" (Whichever one you prefer) has his Pro Bono card all over this one. Every NFL discussion will be a referendum on interest levels going forward. He has bounced into about 5 threads at least singing the same tune and the human spatula is serving as his wing man.

The NFL avg 3.04 million viewers over the 3 days that it covered the draft on ESPN last year.

Hardly a wipeout if it was that and it still doesn't constitute completely ignoring the NBA as Dan McNeil often does.

Post subject:  Re: The Buffoonery that is the NFL Draft

Last year the NFL draft averaged 4.6 million viewers over the three days it was covered. Spurs-Warriors drew 3.77 million viewers this week.

That means, on average, there were 22% more people watching round 6 draft coverage last year than viewing the most popular Woke Bae League Playoffs ever.
