Yes you do. But that has nothing to do with the hypocrisy mentioned in the original post.

There is nothing wrong with being concerned about your security when speaking out against guns. Remember the Ogie quote about giving up guns, ammo first?

I dont recall him saying he wanted to hurt Alyssa Milano.

So you don't see the hypocrisy in speaking out against owning guns to defend yourself while hiring armed people to defend you?

No. She is taking a stand that will rule up pro-gun people. It only takes one person to be a bad guy with a gun.

Doesn't it only take one person to be a bad guy with a gun for everyone else or is the rest of the population immune to criminal behavior? Or are you saying that pro 2a people are going to kill her? Or are you saying that only pro control people deserve the ability to have armed guards protect them, or only people rich enough to be able to afford armed security deserve protection?

I'm saying that speaking out against guns could reasonably upset someone who would do something about it and a good precaution is to be prepared for that.

Ok. Gun control for some but not for everybody. That kind of does sound hypocritical.
Is there a list of things that if one speaks out about they deserve to have armed security or is it only gun control?

Speaking out against guns certainly makes it more likely to set off a bad guy with a gun but given our current situation I can't blame any public figure for being cautious.

So you actually think the only thing holding back those crazed right wing gun nuts from pumping Alyssa Milano full of AR rounds is the presence of armed security? She's spoken out many times about it, why wouldn't someone have hunted her down yet if what she's saying bothers them so much? Her entire Twitter feed would've " set them off" already.

Yes. Can't blame them either for having security.

So to Darko's original point, she's a hypocrite.

That's how most "anti-gun" people are. They're not really against guns... they just want to pick and choose who can have them.

So this got me to look it up. She is protesting the NRA. She claims to be pro-gun rights.

Is protesting the NRA not acceptable to you given your "free speech" thoughts from earlier?

See, she claims to be "protesting the NRA" then when you see what she actually posts on Twitter, she tweets how great it was that the UK banned handguns and how we should do the same.

With better gun laws, maybe she doesn't need armed security.

Apparently we've established that the only thing preventing a bad guy with a gun from shooting Alyssa Milano is a good guy with a gun. Productive thread.

Well I'd say it's more reasonable when you are speaking out against something where seemingly responsible gun owners proudly say "Ammo First" about people restricting gun rights.

Indeed, the good guy with a gun being open and visible may have served as deterrence.

Yup. It's scary that even an anti-gun person has to resort to them like this.

BRick, just take the L here and move on. It's been a bad couple of months for you starting with the DeCastro shakeup. Don't worry though, you'll bounce back, and I bet it will happen before Jason lands his next gig
