Why does every mundane moment demand public celebration from this generation?

Hopefully these will be considered child abuse in the pc world soon as the parents are imposing a gender stereotype on a baby. It's a paradox though because obviously mother's rights supercede those of the baby before it is born.

How would you know until the kid is 3 or 4 these days anyway?

Because they need constant reaffirmation that they are special.

Our gender reveal was when the baby popped out, which was convenient because we had picked a girl’s name but not a boy’s yet.

Eh, they have their place. If its a fairly small gathering for a BBQ and to have some drinks, thats pretty cool I think. Making a big spectacle of it definitely has a 'look at me' vibe to it.

I always thought it would be unique to hit a pink or blue exploding golfball as the reveal.

I thought this would be about someone in Crystal Lake finally confessing to be Juggs.

IF (big if) there is a second, I will push hard for this.

For this first one, I left it entirely up to her and she wants it like KD's was.

He should have a pink and a blue paper bag, light them on fire, then put the appropriate one on his head.

Or maybe a brown bag, and when he lights it, it shoots out pink or blue sparks.

I was just telling my wife not too long ago that I am thrilled these parties were not a thing when we were having kids. So stupid. A friend of ours have a reveal party to share what college is daughter was going to

3 times we had the ultrasound lady tell us together and all the 3 times after i was told it was a girl, i was like "well it is my child it could very well still be a boy" (implying explicitly that i have a small penis) instead of eyes it was generally eye rolls from anyone.

Agreed. These are the kinds of parties everyone who can’t come up with a viable excuse to get out of it complains about it to their spouse before and after.

What? Weddings are usually great unless it's a cash bar, or some religious loon that won't allow alcohol.

I didn't have a party but had most of the immediate family over for a BBQ when we did ours. Did a pinata (yes, it's because I'm mexican) for our girl and popped balloons for the boy. I understand that nobody outside of my family and close friends could give two shits

My son and his wife did exactly that with their twins. My daughter-in-laws brother was given the permission to know what sex the babies would be and got ahold of two exploding golf balls. He then video-taped the "launching" of the two BLUE clouds. Needless to say the looks on their two faces were priceless:)

this is spot on. Everyone needs to post the most ordinary things on their phones as some big deal. Oh look, I'm on a boat! Or need to take a picture of every meal at a dining establishment.

Why does everyone have the need to be famous?

What is wrong with people being invited to share a joyful moment for a young couple, though?
