Yup. The major’s division is a complete joke. To have 12 year olds playing at that distances is silly. They should be at least 50/70 by that age.

Why can't the kids lead off? I remember practicing diving back to first base on a pick off move at that age.

How may of these teams are filled with kids who are 13 and not 12? I know they were supposed to change the rule this year but backed off.

I just laugh at these kids that get so weird on the big stage. Either with arrogance, precociousness or imitating all level of pro players mannerisms without even knowing why.

To be fair to those parents, its either year round travel sports or a massive drug habit.

If they allowed lead offs these kids would steal every base standing up.

when I was coaching my son at that age (the 11-12 age group) our local non-travel league allowed for lead-offs, and it was THE WORST. Every single or walk was a triple unless you were one of the very fortunate teams to have a top catcher. ALWAYS draft the top catcher first was our draft plan each year from ages 11-14. Even the very BEST catchers had a hard time throwing kids out. I think they have changed the rule now, but it didn't even feel like real baseball. Ball one, ball two, ball three, ball four, steal, steal. We had our kids take MONSTROUS secondary leads, and if the catcher threw ahead of them they could still easily get back (unless the ball went sailing into the outfield like it often did) and if they tried to throw behind them it was a stand-up steal.
