Yup. The major’s division is a complete joke. To have 12 year olds playing at that distances is silly. They should be at least 50/70 by that age. |

I remember when my oldest was of that age, our team played fall ball at 11 and then 45 games of travel ball at that size. We had to cut them off by Memorial Day to have them ready for 'LL rules and dimensions. They actually hated the smaller, less baseball games. Not to mention the toothpick bats. I miss those days... |

Why can't the kids lead off? I remember practicing diving back to first base on a pick off move at that age. |

How may of these teams are filled with kids who are 13 and not 12? I know they were supposed to change the rule this year but backed off. |

Every time that pitcher from Rhode Island left the mound I was scared he might kill someone. |

It seems like there are certain regions that produce an entire collection of vomitous people, from parents to kids. Fuck you Georgia and all your big earrings and kids named Cole with bad attitudes. |

I just laugh at these kids that get so weird on the big stage. Either with arrogance, precociousness or imitating all level of pro players mannerisms without even knowing why. |

To be fair to those parents, its either year round travel sports or a massive drug habit. |

Oh I am sure the parents are a real bunch to get to that level. I am not really laughing at them. More of a giggle. |

Everyone plays travel now with 70' bases and 50' mounds, lead offs etc. I'm guessing most of these kids play travel, then join this tourney for the trophy. It is a joke, and not fun to watch. And the fence blocking foul balls from the stands? Really? Tell the little shits to put the phones down and watch the game! |

Every single or walk was a triple unless you were one of the very fortunate teams to have a top catcher. ALWAYS draft the top catcher first was our draft plan each year from ages 11-14. Even the very BEST catchers had a hard time throwing kids out. I think they have changed the rule now, but it didn't even feel like real baseball. Ball one, ball two, ball three, ball four, steal, steal. We had our kids take MONSTROUS secondary leads, and if the catcher threw ahead of them they could still easily get back (unless the ball went sailing into the outfield like it often did) and if they tried to throw behind them it was a stand-up steal. |

I remember when the league I played in switched to lead offs and steals. School team I played for had allowed it for a couple years already so I had been doing it for a while. I'm not a fast guy but I think I stole 3-4 bases a game easily and it would have been more if there wasn't a base clogger on a head of me often. I don't think I was throw out once. It was silly. We had a good catcher who at least kept it respectable but most of the pitchers just didn't have a pick off and did high leg kicks if not full windups half the time in the league. The only good thing about that league was the strike zone was huge. Hard to walk so at least it took away the 5 pitch walk and steal second and third. Oh well. it was fun.. 30 damn years ago..Old...dang. |
