i don't think i'm officially registered as a mitch hater, but as a mitch watcher i've gotta ask.... did you happen to notice early in the game when he was doing a rather spot-on impression of 2005 kyle orton? you know, he was throwing balls to open receivers ~3ft over their heads?

that said, i wanna see what mitch did today applied to a bigger picture and see him use today as a stepping stone as opposed to a blip on the radar. receivers aren't gonna be that open all season long, you know what i'm saying? without that pick-6 we prolly don't win versus seattle and then last week = yeah. i wanna see this game be a foundation for something bigger/better/etc before i'm ready to anoint mitch and/or the bears anything more than "having potential"

they're not on yet. after the sox game on WGN-proper, evidently. sox are in the top of the 8th and losing against the twins so, depending on whether their home-game postgame shows employ Harold Baines or someone for analysis, you figure around ~515-530?

the bucs defense is an abomination. most all NFL qb's can make good throws with a clean pocket/time. while i am glad mitchell finally turned in a good performance, let's not overreact here

Why didn't other teams do the same thing? It's okay to celebrate a Bears win. I don't recall you saying that Mitch would hang 48 on the Bucs.

Lots of QB's have played against garbage defense
Lots of those QB's have played in clean pockets all game

Very few went for 6 TD to 5 different receivers and no turnovers. Actually, the unique stat line (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky put up has literally never happened. It was an all time great game. If it really was because of his shitty opponent we would see many more games like this.

Now whether its a turning point of fun piece of trivia years from now is up to Mitch.

Of the TD passes only 1 was a real nice throw right?
The other 5 guys were wide open.

Great game still but not sure how much was Mitch.

Hitting wide open receivers in stride has been a problem in the past.

No more.

Super Bears.

Super Bowl.

Even by this weird standard you're wrong. Did you take ponts away from Rodgers for his game winning touchdown against the Bears? (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky threw 6 touchdowns and one of his best passes Cohen stepped out of bounds.

This is a really dumb post. That is the job of a QB. To hit open receivers.

other teams basically have done the same thing. the only team they've held under 30 points has been the eagles (21). Bucs are a bad defense made even worse by recent injuries. Under mike smith they've given up 400+ yards in over half the games they've played (19 of 36).

Mitchell must still learn how to deal pressure and pockets that are not perfectly clean... i doubt that occurs this year but long term it's going to make or break him. A QB who makes one read then runs is not a sustainable situation

Mitch was not doing "1 read" and running yesterday. He was making multiple progressions. If you think otherwise then you weren't watching.
