Thanks to some goat humping traffic enforcement aide named Ahmed, I found out someone stole my fucking registration sticker.

Hopefully the ticket for expired registration is tossed (you know since I'm registered through Sept 19 according to the DMV) but I'm not parking at a park & go spot till I get a new one.

Now I remember why I just use spot hero to find garages

It will be but you'll still have to pay like $20 for a replacement IIRC. Just take a razor blade through the sticker.

I had a think at the Corboy building at Loyola's downtown campus. Took to long brewing coffee, didn't want to risk being late so I skipped the train and drove.

You didn't put the sticker on correctly, much like your father didn't put the condom on correctly.

These things seem completely unnecessary in modern times. How do the police not have immediate access to the registration status of a plate?

For people who can't be bothered with a sticker, they can move to California and pay $700 plus $7/month for one of the new digital license plates.

In PA we pay nothing more to no longer need a sticker. All squads in the state have a instant reader of some sort to tell a cop the status. Also, less reason for dumb unnecessary or racist pullovers.

I'd guess plate registration stickers are still useful to LE in jurisdictions other than the originating jurisdiction (Wisconsin, Indiana, Ohio, Ontario, eh, et al). About the only way your plate registers outside your home jurisdiction/state on a semi-consistent basis is if there's a warrant issued related to that plate; and then the only info the out-of-state agency sees is the existence/nature of the warrant.

Pro Tip: Don't remove all of the plastic backing off the sticker when you apply to the windshield... leave about a third of it attached. Makes it super easy to pull off when you need to put next year's model on.

Yeah PA is really weird in a paradoxical way. You think you have it all figured out and they do something against that thought.

I just put it on lightly, as opposed to pressing it down hard on the windshield. This leaves it still easy to pull off, be it at the end of the year or if there is an unexpected mid-season vehicle or windshield replacement. I keep one of these handy to get it started:
