I'm pretty sure this is a case of presentism. You have to look at the context of the time in which the song was written. A woman simply wasn't allowed the agency to fuck whoever she wanted due to societal constraints. So she had to make up excuses like "he plied me with alcohol" to do what she actually wanted to do. We can have a discussion about how wrong such a patriarchal paradigm was, but I'm reasonably certain that complaining that the song is about a rape that is about to occur is off base. There's something disturbing about the song, but it isn't what people think.

I believe 'Imagine' is in C Major. I assume the Rolling Stones probably have at least a couple of songs in C Major, as in their early days they would always tune to the piano in the room, and not a standard key.
