I've seen this trend growing to the point where I saw someone in court today wearing slippers. Granted, it was eviction court so we're not talking about the cream of the crop, but still. Can't even bother to put on shoes anymore? I'm going to start carrying 10lbs ball bearings and drop them on the feet of the slipper wearing public.

My son is doing this. I thought it was a college kid thing. The moccasin type with the rubber sole at least.

This is a current fashion trend and they're called slides. This is going to happen more and more as we age. Just be thankful that you are alive.

Ah. I thought slides were the Nike and Addidas shower type sandals.

They are my default dog walking shoe of choice.
Decently warm and easy on/off.

What is the verdict for wearing these on an airplane?

I'm enjoying my grumpiness as I age. It feels natural.

If we survived crocs we can survive this.

I'd rather see someone in slippers over sandals.

Not when your kids are trying to do it because some of their classmates like it.

Moccasin slippers are fine. Non story.

They're not called slides.

I occasionally appear in eviction court on forcible detainer actions. You often can't tell the people being evicted from the attorneys in there.

I don't really expect people being kicked out of their homes to be fashionably dressed. In fact, certain judges may feel sorry for someone who looks like a broken down bum.

I take more of an issue with the way some attorneys dress. I see guys in cheap suits wearing the kind of shoes that waiters at Olive Garden fancy. And the worst are some of these young broads- often in the Domestic Relations division- who wear four inch heels. If I were a judge I might get sanctioned for asking one of these hoes what corner she is working or what club she is headed to. Four inch heels give me wood but they're totally inappropriate in a professional setting. Unless you ply your trade at Club O.

It's not those. Those are at least somewhat close to hush puppies that I wore in high school.

Why would you call slides or flip flops 'slippers?' And why would you assume anyone else is crazy enough to do so. I trust Franky T did not call Adidas slides 'slippers.'

THEY call slippers slides now. You're too old to know this. So was I until I was educated.

You're tripping. Those Adidas type things are called:

• Sandals
• Flip flops
• Slides

Never slippers. We need a vote.

Don't get me started on what female attorneys wear to court now a days. In the summer I'm sitting there sweating my ass off in a suit and they stroll up in open toed shoes, a skirt, and short sleeve "blouse". Judges don't dare say anything about what they wear in the #metoo era. It really pisses off some of the old crusty guys who practiced when there were only a handful of female bar members and really cracks me up.

 At one of my daughters high school volleyball games this year the opposing coach had huge heels on and a tight fitting super short skirt on. I could hardly believe it. The athletic director for our school would have told her to change her damn clothes
