That is always a tough loss. The way you describe it more so. So much love and attachment revolves around the family pet and the costs have sky rocketed.

Don't want to bog this down but is the new pet insurance causing the higher prices or helping because of them?

Ive never looked into pet insurance a whole lot but we still have 2 other dogs, might not be a bad idea to start seeing what it actually covers.

Wrong section. Getting surgery or whatever on your pet is NOT a douchebag move.

This is very sad to hear. My condolences to you and your family.

I never took it so I am unsure. Losing two older dogs over the last two years added up though. As you unfortunately learned.

If it died on the table, why are they charging you the full bill?

We carry pet-insurance for Lily through Nationwide. She's on the Major Medical Plan. It's $65/mo. but has been worth it.

sorry for your loss Brogue.

sorry caller bob, i know your dog is dying... and it's not looking very good. i can try surgery but im guessing there's only a 30% chance it will work. so since you require a discount on my services performed if the dog dies, im not going to discount my time and take your surgery on. best of luck with your dying pet.

Sorry to hear about your dog, Rogue.

My wife took one of our cats to see the vet last month. They wanted $1000 to pull a few teeth. Crazy stuff.

Sorry BRogue. Always a very hard thing to deal with. I've had to put a few animals down but fortunately have not had a drawn out situation where an
animal was very ill and needed additional care like you mentioned above. Sounds like you did everything you could for your friend so I tip my hat to you
for that sir.

It’s amazing how fast it builds up. Lost a dog earlier this year after a 3 week process trying to save him. Turns out in end there was nothing we could do really.

Sorry to hear Brogue.

Sorry Brogue, I just lost my guy 3 weeks ago.

I guess in retrospect it's good that my guy went really quickly before I could even really contemplate going down the road of trying to save him with surgeries and blood transfusions. Had an autopsy and the vet said it wouldn't have mattered anyway, tumor was in a really bad spot.

Your vet will probably send you a card. So, there's that.
